Kindle Fire preview issues

My uploaded manuscript reads fine in every device except Kindle Fire, which cuts off portions of sentences and paragraphs, seemingly at random. I do not get this when I preview in Kindle and Kindle DX. The preview also is fine in the Kindle for iPhone and Kindle for iPad.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, what was done to correct this?

Kindle Fire uses a different version of the book, in a very different format, than the other device modes in Kindle Previewer. The sentences are getting cut off because something is causing the width of the paragraphs to exceed the width of the screen, minus the automatic margin.

This is apparently becoming a common problem, since someone comes through here pretty much every day now asking for help with it.

Without having seen any of these files myself, I could take a few guesses at what causes it, but not specifically what steps you'd have to take to correct it. Unless you want to save it as HTML and manually fix the problem, which is more or less trivial, depending on your experience reading HTML.

Safe to assume this a Word document originally? Have you adjusted the margins or paragraph-level indentation in any way?

Yes, this is in a Word file and I will have to go back and look at the indentations.

I am including quotes that I am indenting differently -- with smaller fonts, etc., as you would see in a book -- and I'm wondering if that's part of the problem.

Thanks for responding so quickly.
