That's also a good point.

If the price is too low;

Consumers might think you're book is a POS.

The future most definitely in on-line books;

the technology is advancing too quickly and the newer generation sees no need to buy physical books; although there will always be a market for it. There's just something different about having a physical book in your' hand, sitting at the beach in a chair, enjoying the view, and taking a dip in the water.

That will never change.

I wonder if Amazon should slow down policy upon policy dragged out every day so the dust could actually settle.

I increased two of my three books from $2.99 to $4.99 a couple of days ago. I intend to keep them at that. The only reason I didn't also increase the third one is that it is a shorter book than the other two.

They say that when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. When sales slow, the temptation is to DO something, and since price is one of the few quick and easy things to change, the temptation is there to try a new price.

I've learned over the years in investments that usually the right thing to do upon news of changes in the stock market is nothing - just keep following the plan. That doesn't make it easy though.

Traci, I see your collection isn't doing too badly (at least IMO), and a $9.99 book brings in a nice chunk on each sale. That has to help.

Thanks Lisa...what is really funny about my d'oh moments is that I DO actually price on a dare, and just forgot.

And then I looked at my end of the week sales and saw that this time the 4.99 book did the best so I upped all my prices. Then, after upping them all I decided to do a free promo. So...yeah. My choices seem reasonable as I make them, lol. But on paper they look a little haywire! ; )

That cover is so beautiful I can hardly stand it. SOOOO beautiful!

So...the deal is...I have had my cover for a long time and have sort of branded myself with it. It gets a lot of positive feedback and looks pretty good in the thumbnail. Plus, I am super attatched to my buyers remorse cover.

And Mitzy is a blonde...with curly hair.

All of that said, if that gorgeous cover suddenly appeared on this thread with a curly headed blonde, purple highlight action around the author name and title, and covers in the same style for Eminent Domain and Buyer's Remorse, I would be sorely tempted to use them! In fact, feel free to email me at tracityne@hotmail.com so we can talk...

ed to add: The 9.99 collection has only sold 2 copies so...it could be doing better. ; )

Oh, the rating looked relatively high - the two sales must have been recent and close together. Still, that's an extra $14 or so - always a good thing.

I love Patrick's cover too.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new SF book coming up. I'll bet it's fun to work on with that cover.

Yeah! We had a little change in plans with the sci-fi. My brother/collaborator and I write at too very different speeds and I can't afford to wait any longer, so now we are both writing novels in the same world, for our "Tangle Saga," but mine will come out first.

I have a message out to Aman about proofing but I haven't heard back yet. As soon as it is proofed, I'm pubbing it at BN and SW. I'll wait on Amazon so it can be a new release in November to maximize sales here.

How do you get the fancy squiggle between the title and author line? I'd like to try out that on my next cover.
