My latest fantasy novel Hard Winter went live in the wee hours of the morning. While I have three previous publications, this is the first time I've gone indie. Could you please check out my page and see if I should add/change anything? I'm new at this. Thanks!

Did you make an Author's Page? (Sorry, don't have a link for it.)

Yeah, the cover is a bit busy, but it's beautiful in large format. We'll see how it does.

Take your artist hat off and put your businessman's hat on. No one will see it in the beautiful size unless they click on your Look Inside. Before that point, most people have to pass through both the thumbnail and page view sizes where it is just a jumble. Covers and titles are huge parts of your marketing potential and you're squandering that opportunity. Not to mention that unless they have a Kindle Fire, they won't see it in color anyway and it will be an even worse grayscale blur.

All you need to do is put a box behind the title text and play with the transparancy to about 30-40%. You'll still see the picture in the background, but the picture won't be more important than your book. You ARE selling a book and not a picture, right?

Here's an example. It would probably work with your fancy font too, but if not, a little cleaner font wouldn't be a bad idea.

I would pump up my blurb a bit, if I were you.

It's tight, but it does not "pop" for me.
