My book was published, but I needed to make a few changes, and of course messed up everything...
1. I uploaded a new MOBI, and clicked 'Continue' (or Publish, forget) but forgot all about the checkbox on the second "Rights and Pricing" tab.
2. Got a server error, 'Webpage cannot be displayed', and back on bookshelf status is listed as draft.
3. Went back, clicked the SECOND TAB, clicked the checkbox, and clicked continue. A dialog popped up "Unexpected error, we're looking into it."
4. Tried uploading again, but told was "in review" and changes couldn't be made.
The book is now listed as 'In Review', just as it should be. Although the bookshelf looks OK, book under review, is this going to reflect the new MOBI I uploaded in the first place? Darn it all, that second tab gets me every time!
Thanks for any input!
PS: Of course I'm also locked out now from downloading the Preview, so I can't check if its the right MOBI!
While someone is answering ancient music's question I have a similar question. My book was already published also - and I needed to make a few changes also and I think I messed up too, because I forgot to fill out that it was a second edition or revised edition. I got the same message as ancient music Ünexpected error we're looking into it.
Does anyone know of a link that gives instructions for uploading a revised edition of your ebook onto Amazon ?
A few weeks ago there were many errors in the KDP process. I suggested using a different web browser (Google Chrome is my choice) Dunno if this fixed the problem because to the best of my knowledge nobody ever responded to the suggestion. Anyhow, you might try that.
If the book is in Review, it has been submitted and is -- in Review!
I sent a more complete version of this to KDP Support, they should respond tonight (in theory). I'll post their response here for the benefit of Beau and anyone else who has become snagged in this.
Beau, I was so relieved this happened to someone else! The CreateSpace update process is so much smoother. This site lets you proceed, then tells you something is missing (AFTER its too late), then gives this terse message, and finally leaves you in limbo!
Maybe I'll download the other browser and try that.
As promised, here is the KDP reply. This fellow got the book online again and Look Inside to reflect it within 8 hours from my email. HOORAY, Craig V! (I have removed personal information from the text).
I'm sorry for the trouble you've experienced using our website.
Your title is now live and can be purchased. I can confirm that it is the latest revised file that you had uploaded. Check out the detail page to verify its status.
Feel free to write back to us for further concerns or clarifications. Thanks for using Amazon KDP.
