Hi
I am creating a Kindle book for a client. My question is, how do I set up for payments etc to come into their Amazon account? Do I need to log into their Amazon account or can I somehow set it up through mine?
Thanks

If you publish on your account, the money is yours and you will have to then pay it out to the client, and at the end of the year you will likely have to send them a form 1099-MISC.

Thanks for your reply.

I guess the other options would be either

-to set up a completely new Amazon account for them with all their details

-or to use their existing Amazon account (clients might not want to give this info out though)

I did this for a client recently. I had her change her Amazon password, then logged in to her account with the new password and uploaded her book.

As soon as I was done, I had her change her password back (or create a new password).

I don't want to have anyone else's log in info. I am not going to do anything nefarious with it, but I don't ever want there to be any question, just in case there is a problem with their account at some time.

Thanks - yes I agree with you there.

I may set up a new Amazon account for the client, just for the purposes of publishing to Kindle.
