How can I gift my own book to someone without purchasing it? I wrote it but see no option to gift to someone

Amazon doesn't allow gifting, at least not directly. If you have the preview file, you can send that. If not, go to your edit page, where you'll find a link to download a "preview" of the current file of your book. That will be a fully functional .mobi file. You can email that to anyone.

Officially, you can't. You can only go through Amazon and pay for the book for them. Then they get the email (basically a gift certificate) and can use it for your book or anything else they want.
