Title asks it all. 2nd edition is coming out for one of my books. Do I need new ISBNS for my paperback and kindle? Yes, I do know you need separate ones for paperback and kindle in general.

thanks!

You don't need an ISBN for a kindle book. The ASIN assigned by Amazon is sufficient. If you have eBooks with other eVendors, they pretty much all require an ISBN, and may require a new ISBN with a new edition.

What is the reason for the Second Edition in print? If it's simply a new print run, you don't need a new ISBN unless you want to distinguish is as a Second Edition and not just a second print run, in which case you should assign a new ISBN. If the book has changed from the First Edition, then you're supposed to use a new ISBN.

You need a new ISBN for every subsequent edition of a book. You do not need one for Kindle; but it is advisable that you start a new ASIN for the second edition. No ISBN is necessary.
