I'm currently trying to deal with an issue about the free promotion scheme. I put my book up for a free promotion for three days. Afterwards it was kept up and now, still, 14 days after my free promotion 19 people have downloaded the book for free. Also I have found my book on pirate websites.
Has anyone had the problem of your book still being offered for free and taken, even after you have asked Amazon to take it off (and complained several times about it?).
Also, have people found that their book is more likely to get pirated and put on websites to download for free if you have put your book offered on free promotion?
As a result of my experience I will never join the free promotion scheme again.
My promo ended 16 days ago and have had over 600 "free" downloads that should have been paid. Amazon has thus far ignored my emails except to say:
We are experiencing a technical issue which has resulted in some KDP Select free promotions not ending on time in a few countries. Our technical team is working hard to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
I have told them that the book the promo HAD ended on time and that it was the US I was talking about, but they continue to give me that same stock answer. Ready to pull my hair out.
i am going through the same thing i ran my book for five days. but inbetween them five days it went back into draft for some strange reason. once they republished it again. it started my promos all over again and the sales i made are not showing any longer. after the dead line date for free promos my book was still showing for free 24 copies plus 8 were sold during my free promos i don't understand if it is free how do they still charge people and put sold units but they are suppose to be free. i have so many different numbers with the free promo until the second book i just did i only ran it for three days they can say that they got them mixed up because i put the second book up after my free promo was over with my first book and you can't talk to any one on the phone.what will the out come be . i wonder will they pay us for there era
