Has your book been "publishing" for a long time? I registered on Monday for the KDP select. My book was already live, but I didn't know I could just check off the enroll button on the bookshelf. My book has been in the "publishing" phase for 3 days! Yup. The engineers are working on it. Just be patient ( I know easier said than done ).
I have been a silly billy and published my Kindle book before I was ready. I thought it was like Createspace where I'd be given a chance to review the interior in Kindle format before it was properly published, but this didn't happen and to my horror I found I'd put it in to 'publish' mode with no editing options given to delete from the bookshelf or return to draft.
How do you intercept publishing mode and return it to draft? I have messaged the support team - will they do this before it ends up on Amazon? Oh my goodness, I'm in such a panic! LOL
Your opportunity to review is after your ms loads and appears on a simulated Kindle screen.
You can see your book page by page and if you find that more editing/proofing is needed, you simply go back to your book on what ever program you use, do the editing/proofing and upload the new version over the old one.
Then go over it again before you hit Publish.
This process takes time but time is the essential ingredient at this stage.
There is no way to intercept or turn the process around. Only after your book is Live can you alter it in any way.
