Table of Contents

How do you set the Drop Down Menu Table of Contents to go to your page where your Table of Contents may be listed? My Table of Contents in the drop down menu may be grayed out. It does not recognize my table of contents.
How do you set the beginning to start where you may want it to, i.e. on the first page or on the first page of the first chapter?
How do you display the cover by itself only? My cover displays on the left half of the screen with the copyright page on the right side of the page.
With respect to the cover, it sounds as if your image is too small. It should measure 600 pixels wide by 800 pixels tall, no more than 127KB in size, and in my opinion ought to be full color. The standard is 300 ppi but I find 72 ppi satisfactory. You may get some nutty information on this subject from one who calls himself the Divorce Doctor; you can safely ignore it.
Hi NotJohn. I am may have uploaded my kindle book. I knew that I needed to somehow link the table of contents drop down menu item with my table of contents. I just don't have a clue as to how this can be done. Some kindle samples and ebooks that I have downloaded have that functionality working, other may have not. I would really like to include this in my kindle book as well.
I am actually viewing the sample download of my ebook on my kindle application. I will try to reformat the page where I have the book cover to different page settings. It may be set to the size for the paperback. How does the Kindle know where the "beginning" of the book begins and where to locate the table of contents? I guess the cover is probably set to default to the first page.
I used word to convert the file to HTML. I used amazon's kindlegen to compile the .htm file into a mobi file for the kindle. I used wrangler for macs as an html editor. I used photoshop for my images. My images are 300 dpi. I coded the links for the table of contents by manipulating the HTML code that word had created. The links work fine. I just don't know how to set it up so that the kindle will know where to find the table of contents page within it's application. The kindle ebook may look fine also. If for some reason I can't create the cover page to display by itself, it may be okay. I just would really like to have the drop down menu work in conjuction with my ebook totally. Thanks for your help and suggestions. I hope what I have included helps.
I am using a mac computer with the kindlegen application. Is there anyone out there who may have knowledge as to how to connect the kindle application's dropdown menu item: Table of contents with the table of contents created within my html document?
in the section where the table of contents html code is defined. I saved the html file and I compiled it in kindlegen. When I opened the mobi file in the kindlegen viewer, the table of contents in the drop down menu was still grayed out. I think that it may be something simple too. Thanks.
