Helo,
A few days ago I saw an invite free promotion. I assumed that I was being offered free romotion help. I clicked yes.
I see now I had 68 sales at 70% and 5 sales 35%. almost immediately. I dont understand the difference. What concerns me is that althought I had the sales
there \are no royalties listed. I now have the terrible fear my latest book has been downloaded 73 times and I get nothing. Anyone
know it this fear is well founded or will my royalty payments show later.

Hi Bill;
It sounds like you've offered to give your book away for free. Amazon holds free book giveaways for authors if you opt in. It just means you offer exposure to your book by offering it for free. I've never done that but I'm thinking you did. I'd email KDP help and ask. There's a contact at the bottom of the page.

Hello, I very much regret failing to reply. I am new here and don`t know how to work the system. You were correct and answered the question. I realise what I did amounted to having 1000 books read for nothing six months work for nothing. such is life. Any idea when I opt for 70% Royalty on Amazon.com I only get 35%.
Thank you
Bill

Some countries that purchase books through Amazon.com give a 35% royalty rate regardless of what you have selected.

By selling books on KDP you've entered a business relationship with Amazon and you really need to take the time to read the terms and conditions you agreed to when you signed up. There's a lot of important stuff in there.

My sales reports for Aug 1-Aug 31, 2013 shows numerous sales, yet the sales report doesn't credit me with any royalties and I have not paid for sales in August 2013. Please correct this oversight.

DR--

It's better to start a new thread with a new question rather than attaching your question to the end of a different (already answered) thread, where no one may see it.

First, you're not talking to Amazon here but to other authors. To talk to Amazon, you need to use the "contact us" button (bottom right corner of this page).

Secondly, you may be having trouble reading the reports. Look at the "Newbies start here" thread and the "Before you ask a question" thread, both in the General Questions forum.

There you will see that you will not be paid for August sales until the end of October. Also, did you give your books away via a "free promotion"? If so, you will earn no royalties on them (people got the books for zero, you earn zero).

Good luck!
