hi
I have attempted to translate my English language fiction (comedy) into German with bad results.
Please help.
I need someone to edit these books which have gotten bad reviews. I usually get no reviews at all.
Please email me at jjbrearton@aol.com
I guess I could offer to spell check your German to English ebook in exchange. If I like it, I'll post an excellent review. I don't post bad reviews, since I don't believe in bashing indie writers. They need all the help they can get.
I hope you can read this.

Hello openhearted, take a look my ebook "Sherlock Holmes Und Der Mann Im Beson"
which I translated into German from "Sherlock Holmes And the Man In Concrete," and if the translation is OK I will tell you how to get your ebooks translated into German inexpensively.

Both ebooks are linked to Amazon.com on http://Philduke.weebly.com

Best regards,

Phillip Duke Ph.D.

Das als Übersetzung anzubieten ist schon mutig!

phildukephd:

You must be kidding to think you could do a translation into another language with a text editor. My English isn't perfect, but I will try to translate how this sentence which Vkuczkowski2 brought as an example from your book translation into this thread in german sounds for a german reader: Sense, grammar ... everything is only chaos!

Fishermen trawling in front of the coast of England were surprised in their netting snarled to find what means the body of a man in concret to be only the head beeing exposed the rest of the body beeing assumed that with cement coverd is going to be.

If you want your book to be translated into german you have to search for a literary translator as we have to do, to get our books translated into English. It's the only way it works. Everything else is only embarassing and an impertinence for readers.

dear openhearted,

you need a professional translator from english to german. expensive, but otherwise no one will read your book, cause it sounds like crap.

try this one: www.lektorat-bauer.de

professional editor, english language and literature studies. Worth a try.

regards

I am a translator for English and Italian but I am afraid
you are awaiting more than two or three sentences to be translated, right?
I expext you won´t be able to pay more than those few sentences. because I would always expect to be paid for my job.. You must be joking if you really expect someone
translating a book like yours just for nothing. Translating from one language into another is hard work. It needs a lot of time and a lot of knowledge.
For your project you should ask a professional Interpreter not just anyone who has learned English at school many years ago...
Well, it is never too late to understand...

Thanks for the note---danke shane

I know translation is expensive--what I was proposing was to do an English edit of a book originally published in German, already given a rough English translation--in exchange for an edit of one of my short German ebooks---they are ordinarily fantasy or sci fi comedies

here is a link to a short 11 page ebook that needs to be checked for errors

http://www.amazon.com/Deutsche-College-Kredit-German-John-Blandly-ebook/dp/B00L5PD1LY/ref=sr_1_6?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1415108061&sr=1-6#_

Dear bin

yes, I am familiar with chaos---as an indie, without the paid for support of a wealthy relative, girlfriend, wife, or parents (I am an orphan)

I must do these things myself--and if machine translation is crap--that is the fault of the machine--don't blame the writer, please

still looking to exchange edits

Jim B

Ja, ich bin vertraut mit Chaos---als ein Indie, ohne die Unterstützung von einem wohlhabenden Verwandten, Freundin, Frau oder Eltern (Ich bin ein Waisenkind)

Ich muss mich diese Dinge tun und wenn maschinelle Übersetzung Mist--das ist die Schuld der Maschine--nicht die Schuld der Verfasser, bitte

noch auf der Suche um Bearbeitungen auszutauschen

openhearted: I think less of us are wealthy ... but instead of having my books transladed by a machine I better decline to have my books translated. I can't treat this machine for the bad translation, because it is only a machine which does not know better. But I await from a human who writes books to know that a book cannot be written or even translated without emotions which only human intelligence can ensure.

The second thing which I await to know from a human beeing is, that every languange has different grammar and syntax, and that a text editor will in every case translate the sentences word by word - which meens that it will translate english sytax which is different from german syntax. So ... how can you ever imagine to find a text editor which is able to transform english syntax into a german syntax? This work can only be done by a literary translator which has a good feeling for literary speech.

I remain interested in helping any German fiction writer who would like help translating their book into English
if they would first machine translate German to English, email it to me and I will proofread and edit it (5,000. words at a time or less)

Phil

you win the award for the kindest reply

seems like others want to be paid as translators,

I have been spammed and hacked and my little German ebooks have been maliciously reviewed, my little German books are meant merely to amuse--I guess there are too many of us Germans who are not interested in that

Hamburg, Frankfurt, mit ketchup end mustard forever!

from Trier mit love,

oh

still, if there is anybody out there who is interested in help with their German fiction books, in order to have your fiction English translations edited, and proofread, contact me at jjbrearton@aol.com

my hope is that in exchange, someone will be interested in editing my German ebooks---danke,

Dear openhearted,

for all english speaking authors out there who try and machine translate their books into german, my friend Brad Roderick (which strangely is never seen together with me) has the vice versa example. Just look and it and you'll realize you'd bite out your teeth on it.

Michael

think what you want

I found the book excellent--very funny, and gave it a 5 star review

granted, it would be easily improved by proper formatting, that the author can do without even knowing the language

but, bottom line--I liked it a lot--tell me how the book does in German
