Indeed it is.
I don't get hung up on these things.

Just unpublish and you're done.

Anahit:

When I post my books for free in one day the order goes up to 100 books, how came no record for paid sale , none whatsoever?

What part of "free" didn't you understand? That's from your post starting this thread. You, as a publisher, decided to give your book away, for some period of time, for FREE. That's why you have no paid sales.

Now, insofar as "deleting" your account: you simply close it down. You delete the books--although, by your standards, that won't be good enough--and you close the account. Remove all the banking information.

I would point out, however, that by your lights, you're already too late. Amazon HAS YOUR FILES. Deleting your account won't do diddly, really. I mean, for that matter, all those 100 people that got your book for free can also now publish it, with a new cover, new title, as it's a new masterwork of contemporary writing. Amazon could publish your book, ditto. (For those not really gifted, following this: yes, I'm being sardonic. I'm not really joking about the idea of digital FILES, however).

Now, I suspect that, like thousands of others before you, you simply didn't read the instructions. This means that you did something incorrectly. You put the book on FREE, not some magic promtional free advertising scheme that doesn't exist. Simply take it OFF Free, and, if you're that upset, remove it from your bookshelf. That will take the book out of KDP, out of KDP select, but in the future, either read the instructions yourself, or have someone with a better comprehension read them for you. That's the best advice. Your temper tantrum here isn't doing anything for your reputation, and frankly, it won't SOLVE anything. The other authors here are laughing at you because they know that Amazon isn't STEALING YOUR MONEY. They couldn't care less. Most authors don't make money--period. They're lucky if they make $100 in a month. If you've JUST put your book up for sale/promotion, and you had 100 free downloads, then those freebies might a) get you reviews, or b) get you more sales. If you are not willing to see if you get either, then go ahead, and screw yourself over--remove the book from KDP/KDP Select, Amazon, etc.

If you aren't satisfied with THAT, go to your bookshelf, hit HELP, then go to the bottom of the help page, on the left-hand side, where it says, "contact us," and ask them how to DELETE your account, entirely. Although, let me point out again: if you really think that they are "out to get you," they already HAVE your banking, etc., info.

Good luck to you.

and I care lass what you say!
or laugh- HELL YOU DO!

There should be a "DELETE ACCOUNT" feature there. and that is IT!!!

I do not find that option, which ALL OTHER SERVERS have.

I used to post my works on about 10 self-publishing servers; all have CLOSE ACCOUNT feature .
QUESTION;
why amazon does not have it?

(it is not about 'stealing' issue anymore. this is MORE THAN IT! )

and no one cares?

Anahit, the problem is that no one on this forum works for Amazon. We are only people who publish our books like you did. The issues you are raising can only be addressed by Amazon employees and no one on this forum is an Amazon employee. You need to raise your questions with Amazon. At the bottom of the forum screen is a 'contact us' option that allows you to speak with Amazon employees. There's no point getting angry with us because we do not have the power to solve your problem. Cheers, Gears

Agreed. Of course, on the other hand, he could be the next Joyce. (Charlie, at least, will get that joke....)

I was getting close to getting in trouble for laughing at this thread while at work. My shift is over, so I can chortle all I want now.

Are we talking James Joyce? I would think obtuse is a bit harsh, maybe obscure:)

Can you please post a link to your REAL LITERATURE before you unpublish?
I'm dying to take a look at it.

Anahit you are the IDIOT I've been looking for.

I am one of those who've downloaded a free copy and now I'm going to re-badge it and sell it under a new name and make a fortune...

Muhahahahahahahahahahahah!
