I woke up this morning to find my account is blocked because my titles "violates our content guidelines" ... I need to get back into my account to remove the titles that do not meet these guidelines. Does anyone know how I can do this ??? I have e-mailed support here and replied to the original email. Please advise.

Dear Publisher,

It has come to our attention that, on multiple occasions, you have uploaded material through your account which violates our content guidelines http://forums.kindlecentral.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=502&tstart=0. Our guidelines state that we do not accept pornography and hard-core material that depicts graphic sexual acts. Please note that if you continue to upload material for which does not meet our content guidelines, we may terminate your account. If your account is terminated, you will not be allowed to open new self-publishing accounts.

Before accepting any new titles from you, we need you to reply to title-submission@amazon.com with the following declaration: “I confirm that I have read and will comply with the content guidelines http://forums.kindlecentral.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=502&tstart=0, and that I have removed any previously published titles that do not meet these guidelines. Until we receive this response from you, we will not be reviewing or publishing any additional titles you submit. Any titles submitted will be immediately moved into a “draft” status.

Best regards,

Duncan C.

They wont pay you for every single sale, they will only pay you until the date of termination. That means you will have some sales you will get 0 royalties.

They can take upto 5 days to take down your titles and still keep them so re-downloads will be available for their customers.

I know someone whos account got blocked recently. And they kept his titles for 5 - 7 days still selling and then did not update prior six week royalty total however you could see that additional sales happened after the date the account got blocked. That were in excess of $ 700. Which they get to keep as per the KDP Terms and conditions

These guys are really clever. Plus their KDP terms and conditions are there to circumvent any kind of liability.

Just say goodbye to your account.

Amazon isn't entirely clear about what it will and won't accept. It does forbid pornography, and the 'depiction of graphic sexual acts' but that has generally been interpreted, both by publishers and by amazon, to mean visual depictions. Did your books contain a lot of pictures?

There is a secondary requirement which basically uses the term 'offensive' as a guide, but offers no great clarification as to what amazon considers to be offensive. Incest is one, and probably rape. Anything involving minors, of course, would be another.

A good start would be to write the email KDP asked for. Then wash out your mouth with soap and resolve to be a good boy.

No T&Cs can override the law of the land. And that includes what could be considered as unethical practices. Amazon has separate sites for GB and DE, both of which are part of the EU. If Amazon are not careful, they may just drift into the EU's radar, and then all bets are off.

Did amazon ever reinstate your account? I logged in just now to my account and received the same message, however they have not sent me an e-mail as to why it is blocked. I just sent an e-mail to their support and just waiting for them to reply.

Looks like this is a world wide problem as i am in the UK and mine is blocked. I have never had any messages or emails saying that this is a problem with any of mu Kindles.
This is the email I got - Dear Publisher,

It has come to our attention that, on multiple occasions, you have uploaded material through your account of unacceptable quality. This has resulted in those titles failing our quality review, or receiving customer complaints, refunds and a poor customer experience. Please note that if you continue to upload material which is of unacceptable quality, we may terminate your account. If your account is terminated, you will not be allowed to open new self-publishing accounts.

We request that you respond to this message stating that you will improve the quality of all future submissions and will correct the issues with the outstanding titles you have for sale on the Kindle Store. Until we receive a response from you regarding these concerns, we will not be reviewing or publishing any additional titles you submit. Any titles submitted will be immediately moved into a “draft” status.

I do not think this is a question of returns. I used the time that my blocked account provided today to dig a little deeper on the net. This was a blow against the guys having read the bazillions of "getting rich with kindle" books by using or spinning PLR texts and thus spamming the Kindle platform. This gets a thumbs up from me - but not the fact that myself and obviously some other honest guys were affected. I never used PLR content and will never do that.

I don't have any PLR content and I've been blocked. What did Amazon do, just randomly ban people? I understand the PLR move, I'm all for that as a Kindle owner myself, but to not even give anyone a chance to rectify the problem is overly aggressive to me.

True, but Amazon has a history on acting at will, so don't be too surprised if you were hit unjustified. But let's assume that educated people can talk to each other and that we can convince Amazon that we belong to the good guys.

This is bullsh"t, You all better watch out when Amazon decides to take something profitable away from you , they can and will and don't care.......
