Can anyone help with payment mistakes on this forum?

**I am positive I sold a paperback book that has not been credited to my list this month because my husband ordered it through Amazon Prime and he did receive the book but I have not been notified of the sale.**

**I make few enough sales that I cannot afford to be cheated out of a single one.**

What is more, there is no way to tell anyone this except here in the community. Forgive me for being cynical but I believe this to be a deliberate omission on the help page


**While I am here, can anyone explain to me why there are many other people offering my books for sale on the Amazon page. Again, I pretty much know where and to whom I have sold copies of my books....the odd few who are unknown to me cannot surely be selling them on my amazon page, can they?**

You can contact Customer Service below at 'Contact Us'.

If you are signed up for selling to other stores at CreateSpace, those are used book sellers. They can sell your book. You make a distributor level royalty if something sells thru them. The sellers all show on the one page as you are seeing.

To add to my earlier reply:
IF you listed your paperback at CreateSpace, that is where you will find the sale.
You need to go to their site for your reports there.

I have already tried the contact us link....it does NOT lead to any real help. There is a circular "click this, click that" route which takes you absolutely nowhere in the end. The fact is that I KNOW something happened regarding this sale. We received the book ...ergo they received payment.... but no payment shows up on my report BUT I cannot speak to anyone about this. I have received plenty of other payments, enough to know the usual procedure.

There was one other difference in this order - when the book arrived, the bar code was covered by a sticker with another barcode...someone must know what this is about....it cannot just be me that this has happened to.

Yes, we used create space to publish with but we do not purchase books from them. I do not understand the whole selling on thru them process. No one ever told me that books can be sold other than through the same Amazon channel.

I want some answers from Amazon!

I want some answers from Amazon!

If you published the book through Create Space, then you need to login to Create Space to see your royalties. CS isn't linked to your KDP dashboard. The paperback sales that show up on KDP dashboard are for books created through KDP Print Beta.

Your husband ordered the book through Amazon.com and that order was processed via Create Space.

If it doesn't show up on your Create Space dashboard, then you can contact them to find out why.

ETA: We are all authors on this forum. No one here works for KDP, so we don't have access to any of your accounts.

That IS how you get 'real help'. There is no phone number to call. They will reply to your message in the order that it was received. It keeps your royalties up as funds are not spent on redundant phone calls for payroll.

Manufacturers often change barcodes per changes within their system.

CreateSpace IS Amazon and it is whom you published with. It is who processed your book for your sale with them. You are confused between the beta program (the Kindle site) for paperbacks and CreateSpace. The paperbacks now being sold thru the Kindle site is newer and is (again) a BETA program. Books published with Amazon at CreateSpace show sales at your bookshelf at CreateSpace.com.

*This is the first time that a payment has not shown on my report but we always use same method to pay. Why would this one have been processed through create space and not the usual process? I do not know how to contact create space independently for reports.

I am totally confused about this Donna....I am not trying to be awkward, only to understand why this matter has arisen.

Like, I contacted them and they asked me for a report number. I sent it back and was told the email I sent it to (the one given to me by the person who contacted me) does not accept replies. I went back through the whole process of help/help this and that and gave the info that way and was told I needed to send more info. I have done so and once again...I have no answer save yours.

Are you on their staff? If not, how would you know whether I ordered through them or somewhere else? I repeat, this has NEVER happened before to my knowledge. If I order a book that I published, the payment I make shows up on my KDP report every time except this time.*

I have carefully gone thru the past messages prior to replying here.

CreateSpace is where the book was published (per your previous note on this thread). This is not where you would have purchased the book. CreateSpace is the main paperback publishing option for Amazon.com. Your purchase would have been thru Amazon.com but you published thru CreateSpace (per a prior post on this thread) and that is where the sale will show. You have a Bookshelf there just as you do with the Kindle site. www.createspace.com You need to figure out what your sign-in information is there.

Added note. To clarify: You can publish thru CreateSpace for paperbacks and thru the Kindle site (now which is a beta program, a newer program). Neither says 'Amazon.com' as it does when you make a purchase retail.
