I submitted my Kindle ebook for publishing today and then, typically, spotted a big editorial error. Is there any way to cancel the submission (it is currently not yet published, so is locked in a 'publishing' status). As it is not yet published I would love to be able to do this as the error is very detrimental to the finished book (something odd happened when going from a normal word document into Kindle Create).
I have sent a message through 'Contact Us' but I know this can take up to 24 hours to process.
In a case like that or whenever you want to make a change, when the book is live, go back into the book on your bookshelf and re-upload over the old or wrong version. Look for the 3 dots to the far right of the book when it is live and click there.
I've never heard of anyone getting it successfully stopped mid-way through the process. It usually takes two days to get a response to the contact us button, by which time it would be too late, even if they could do something.
Just keep checking on the site for the (ellipsis) edit e-book button to go live again. It'll often be up to a couple of hours before you get the e-mail saying your book is live.
Your second upload tends to be much quicker, maybe only a few hours, so it's entirely possible you won't have had any/many downloads in the first few hours anyway.
