Dear people,

Is there any way I can give a complimentary copy of my ebook people who made a significant contribution?

Thanks!

If you are in the US, use the gift option on your Amazon store page.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Oh dear. No, I'm in South Africa and the people I'd like to gift are either here or in the UK.

No option for outsiders like us? That seems rather discriminatory!

Anyway, thanks for letting me know.

You could simply e-mail a copy of the MOBI file that you downloaded for preview to them (or to their Kindle e-mail address, if they know how to find it).

Even outside the U.S., you can buy and send an actual gift certificate for the correct amount. Note that when you do this, the screen that comes up shows a series of standard gift certificate amounts to select, but at the far right is a spot where you can put in your own amount. This might work for you if you don't want to send a MOBI file or ePUB file.

Of course, the recipient of a gift certificate can apply it towards the purchase of Godiva chocolates and not buy your book, but that's a hazard you'd have to take on.

Thanks, guys, that's very helpful. Some of my recipients could certainly handle the .mobi file, but for the others I can send a gift certificate.

Appreciate your input.
