I released my new book today 31 October and have an issue about sales being recorded on my sales page.
It says 1 copy was downloaded on kindle which I personally know to be not right as a few friends downloaded it straight away.
Also it says that 16 copies were ordered through create space which again I know for fact that this is not correct also as I ordered 15 copies myself for friends and my face book page has got photos of people who have ordered their copies.
Has anyone experienced this as Well as I have had my doubts about my previous 2 books orders.

Createspace orders don't show up until they've shipped, so there could be a delay because of that.

As for kindle e-books, again there could just be a delay before the orders come through, which they may or may not do. (It took several hours for my own purchase to show up once.)

The problem with people who say they've ordered your e-book, is that sometimes they fib! Sad, but true, as I'm sure you've realised by now, as this isn't your first book release.

As to whether we doubt the accuracy of Amazon's accounting, of course we do! But until someone comes up with a way of proving it one way or the other, we just have to accept what we're told. To do otherwise would drive you insane!

Best of luck with your sales. J

Unfortunately, friends lie, or they tell you what you want to hear, or they say what they have to say to get you off their back. Often, they check out the free sample so they can actually claim to have read it, sort of. Such is human nature, and if you're smart you won't press them too much about it.

Books ordered from CreateSpace will not show up at all, ever, on your dashboard, nor will you receive any royalties. After all, you bought them at cost.

Since today is your first day publishing, don't you think you're a little quick off the block? Give them at least a few days before you start accusing them of stealing from you. It will take at least that long before credit cards are processed, books are printed and shipped, and Amazon is notified by the POD company.
