Gajanan,

You should always be careful what you wish for. But since you asked, nay, demanded a review, here it is;

'Poor grammar and translation and nonsensical sentences. If the introduction/blurb is bad, the dedication is worse. Thankfully, after the blurry map, nothing else was visible on the Look Inside, suggesting this is a fairly short piece of work.'

Possibly not the words you were expecting, gajanan, but that's as polite as I could be.

If you're looking for another platform, you might want to try Google, as they've obviously already helped out with their translation service.

Don't expect anyone here to buy you're book. We're authors, not customers.

Just my thoughts. J

Your monthly earnings will probably depend upon how large your circle of friends and family is. Earning more than a pittance requires excellent language skills, competent storytelling abilities, an in-depth understanding of genres and genre expectations, and good marketing strategies, to include cover design, formatting and advertising. Honestly, though, if the above is an example of your proficiency in English, you might want to keep to a language you know, otherwise I don't see any hope of significant sales.

Gajanan,

What's with the attack on Julia?
She replied in a polite way, and used her own free time to help you.

Here are a few suggestions;
1; listen to what's already been said.
2; in addition to nonsensical sentences, bad grammar and all that... You're in the wrong categories (this doesn't at all seem like a children's book).
3; it's listed as 'part-1', please don't even consider bringing out a part 2 until you've mastered English or have an editor.

Gajanan,

I speak as I find, and contrary to your view, I am far from unhappy with my life. And if you'd seen 'all' of my comments, as you say, you wouldn't be in any doubt of that.

Frustrated? Yes, I am frustrated, but mostly with the poor quality of books being published on Amazon at the moment.

Demoralising? Do I burst the occasional bubble of a brash, over-confident newbie, who thinks the Zon has just been holding its collective breath, awaiting his arrival? Yes, I admit, I have been known to do that.

But do I criticize quality work, lie about a book's prospects, or comment negatively out of spite, cruelty, jealousy or simple meanness? No! Not once!

For every one of those 'negative' posts you refer to, there are probably 25 where I could have done the same, but I walked away, and 50 more where I offered help and assistance.

You asked for a review, and I gave you one. Listen to what I've said or don't, it makes not the slightest difference to me, one way or the other. What I said was, imho, truthful and accurate.

But before you start throwing your toys out of the pram, wait and see what others here have to say, because whether they soften it by adding flowery words of encouragement, or give you the stark harsh truth, when you drill it down, I doubt very much if anyone will say anything different.

As to whether I'm a real author, why would I be in this community if I wasn't? I have 17 completed novels (not pamphlets) most of which are currently available on Amazon, some elsewhere.

As to sending you my book details, why the heck would I do that?

Posting book details on the forums is an act of sheer madness or desperation. (Only a lucky few come away unscathed.)

When last I checked, I was neither.

If you are serious about releasing a book of quality, start by hiring a good editor/translator.

Until then, I really don't have anything else to add.

After all, these were just my thoughts, which you invited me to share. J

You say you wish to learn, yet you reject solid advice when given. I will re-emphasize what has already been said. Your English is insufficient to publish in an English market. Your grammar and punctuation are currently insufficient, and the map in your Look Inside is blurry and stretched. You might have interesting content, but it is currently hampered by the language barrier and poor quality. You need to find an editor and you need to fix that blurred image and any others that might be in your book. I would also suggest making the title shorter. That's quite a mouthful on the cover.

I'm saying this as a reader who has read over 2000 books in my lifetime and has an idea of how far you can stretch the grammar mistakes and bad presentation before something turns unreadable.

Engaging in personal attacks after someone has taken the time to give you the assistance you requested is the mark of an ill-mannered and venal buffoon. As to your demand that show you her books, she owes you nothing...it was you who came with a beggar's bowl, not her.

I looked at your sales page. However, since you made the decision (a poor one really) to create your e-book as a print replica, your Look Inside is an absolute disaster. So I downloaded it to my kindle. Unfortunately, as I mentioned earlier, your language skills are not up to the task you have set yourself. The shortness of your book and your inclusion of superfluous front matter means people see very little, but what they do see of your writing is not an inducement to purchase. Additionally, your overpriced pamphlet contains nothing that can't be found in hundreds of better written books by credentialed experts and accredited scholars, or freely on the internet for that matter. I did not retain your book.

I think we should all strive to give neutral criticism instead of allowing our frustrations to turn into a personal attack. That way there can be no doubt about the message.

I am always impressed by the moderation of Julia's replies when she offers a brief review of an author's work - correct, to the point and quite tactful, really, considering what she looks at. I've read a few of her response's to a book written by an author who is puzzled as to why he/she hasn't made a thousand sales a day, and then looked up the book, and been quite amazed that she took the time to respond so extensively to such a deplorable example of writing, and I feel outraged that so many people consider they are 'authors' because they uploaded a second rate bit of writing to the Zon (I am not meaning the OP's book - I didn't check it so have no idea of the quality, I'm just responding to his observation that Julia is tough in her reviews). As an English teacher, some of the books available on Kindle make me want to take out the red pen, cross out half the words and tell the writer that the work is about the standard of a 14 year old who is on a path to failing English. In fact, most of my 14 year old English students could write better than many of the authors clogging up the sales pages at present. I am sure that, just like the mulish, lazy, "I don't care if I fail" teenagers at school, these authors don't proofread...a big tip: record yourself reading your own book word for word with punctuation as written, then listen to it a fortnight later.

The problem is with non-native English speakers who don't know that what they wrote is incomprehensible or just not what a native speaker would say. Telling them to proofread isn't going to work because they don't know that anything is wrong.

Telling them might not work, but getting a proof reader or editor certainly will.
