It looks as if I'm the target of a click farm, for what reason I don't know, and I'm going into full panic mode.
A number of my KU titles are increasing in 500s.
I've contacted Amazon, and I'm waiting on a reply.
Does anyone have any suggestions what else I can do?
500 pages at a whack, or 500 positions in ranking at a whack?
500 pages wouldn't be out of line. Also, if memory serves--there is a pages-read ambiguous situation where the KDP process credits you an even 500 pages until they have the correct data. Someone else here may remember.

500 pages at a time.
I hope you're right. Though a short story--30 pages--I uploaded today was just slapped with an even 500.
Most of my titles are short stories, and I'm averaging about 2/3k page reads in KU a day. The current total today is 20k page reads, hence my flailing.
One possibiity is a book group reading one of your stories to discuss it. If they all have KU accounts they would download it for free. If I did the math right, 16 people reading it in one day would equal pretty close to 500 pages. And, of course, it could be 16 random people who just happened to hear about it. Did you do some advertising? Or are you the bestselling Kim Knox whose short stories I found? If so, that should explain why you're getting lots of pages read: free short stories by a good author.
