Hello fellow writers,

I observe that I get more KENP reads than actual sales. That is okay but in spite of regular KENP progress, I do not see any reviews!
When a person borrows or downloads your book under Kindle Unlimited program - do you see him/her reviewing/rating your book?

My book's ranking gets better but without any significant improvement in the number of reviews. Is it common?

Regards.

Yes, it is. Few people leave reviews, less than 1% of readers...even fewer when the book is free, or seems so. Since you can't force people to review your book, it's neither worth obsessing over nor worrying about. BTW, page reads do not affect ranking, only initial borrows, whether read or not.

Thank you! This helps.

And this "BTW, page reads do not affect ranking, only initial borrows, whether read or not." --> is new information for me..
ANd can I distinguish between pagereads v/s KU borrows?

I have around 500 books on Kindle. Off-hand, I'd say maybe 20 of them have any reviews at all, and perhaps only three or four have more than one review.

I'm in a different situation from many in that the majority of my titles are reference books, so perhaps it's to be expected that my readers would not be the review-leaving kind (unlike fans of genre fiction, say).

I just don't worry about it.

As to KENP reads vs. sales, I doubt this makes any difference in whether or not someone leaves a review. However, one could argue that a person who has parted with money to buy a book might be more inclined to leave a negative review if he doesn't like it, than someone who simply borrowed it.

No, you never know how many people borrowed your book, nor is it really important. As to page reads, yes, you just look at the number posted on your m-t-d chart.
