I think the store was closed out very recently. They gave about two weeks' noticed, which irritated a lot of people, but like you I am pretty sure I have NEVER sold a book that way, although I had a two-dollar discount coupon on all my books. I'm glad to hear the links still work, in a fashion, just in case there are any stray ones remaining on my website.
I think Amazon finally figured out that it was competing with itself with this CS store, which probably predated Amazon's acquisition of the company. CS gets a few pennies from each book, baked into the printing cost, but Amazon as a bookseller got nothing from the CS store sales. This way, they get their customary 40 percent, which is significant. Though I've never sold a book there, it's obvious that the third-party Marketers have been using it. Perhaps that's one reason Amazon is getting rid of it -- to cut down on the bogus Marketplace offers that accompany all print editions.
(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Has anyone else noticed that if you search titles in the CreateSpace store and click a link for a book, it takes you directly to the Amazon product page.
I know CreateSpace is an Amazon company, and I got virtually no sales directly from the CreateSpace store, but when did this happen?
Is this another step toward moving everything toward KDP Print?
Has anyone noticed this? And what are people's thoughts?
Not surprised that CS store would be closed by Amazon. Was surprised it took them this long to do it. I never directed customers there. Why would anyone want to create yet ANOTHER account when you can go to Amazon and one click? Wasn't convenient. I'm sure most customers never bought books there and so Amazon decided to close down the store.
This is the first I've heard of the end of the CS store. You think they'd have told me, I have half a dozen books with them. But it is of course no big deal. I think I've maybe sold 1 book total through there.
