Hi,

When I tried a preview my ebook in kdp previewer , it twisted words and letters for example किताब becomes कतिाब . I have used google input tools to write this. Anything that I might be missing or any resolution for this,

For some reason, other-country publishers tend to post on the nearby Publisher Support forum, even though the forum provides no Support other than what other publishers are willing to provide, same as this one. But you might try it in hopes of finding a successful Hindi self-publisher.

It may be that Word is the better way to handle this. Any chance you could borrow someone's computer with Word installed? You can also use the Contact Us option (bottom of this page, right side) to ask Support for help.

Supposedly five Indian languages are supported. Surely Hindi is one of them!

Thanks for suggestion. I added a uni-code character in the ebook by myself and when I published , previewer converted every character in uni-code itself and that's working fine.

Excellent. Unicode or html should always suffice, though ideally the Indian-language fonts will be there.

The boffins over on MobileRead forums say that there are definitely references to some Indian languages on the Kindle software, but that the fonts themselves are not actually installed. Evidently what's supposed to happen is that if I buy a book in Hindi, my Kindle or Fire will then download the needed font. That seems rather tricky, so it's not surprising that it doesn't always work as it should.
