Can someone please tell me who else to write about this problem? So far, I am receiving pre-canned replies saying "sorry, we cannot help you" when I use the Contact Us page. Here's my problem:

Another author with a book that has the same title as mine replaced her cover recently -- causing her reviews to start appearing on my book's page instead of hers.

She writes science fiction, I write mysteries. The reviews for her books are confusing to readers at best.

I started large marketing campaign two days ago, so the timing could not be worse.

I need a human being to write for some help. Anyone have any suggestions?

The book page in questions is this one and it's pretty easy to tell which reviews are not for my book: https://www.amazon.com/Time-Casey-Jones-mystery-Book-ebook/dp/B004OL2K8Q/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

yours in frustration,
Katy Munger

It is said not to reply to a review, but since CS won't help, I would be tempted to point out instances possibly mentioned that are not in your book.

If you're trying to get it esca*lated using the contact us button, make sure you keep replying to the same e-mail and don't start a new one each time. That's the only way to get it moved up the chain. However, I don't hold out much hope.

I once read (in the community, I think) of someone who had a review for pillows posted against their book.

Amazon refused to take it down because the reader had a right to leave any review as long as they weren't breaking the Zon's guidelines.

Recent cases where the reviews have successfully been taken down have come as a result of someone complaining (in the comments box) that the mistake was obviously Amazon's and not the author's, and that the Zon should do something about taking incorrect or misleading reviews down. Amazon seriously don't like having their mistakes highlighted!

You wouldn't be wise to do this yourself, but if you had a friend, maybe...

But of course, they'd have to comment against every single one, and not all of the bad ones would necessarily be identifiable as belonging to the other book. Obviously, if they refer to sci-fi, and yours is clearly not a sci-fi book, then you would stand a better chance.

It might be worth trying... or not... just thinking out loud here...

The same thing happened to me, and Amazon became quite frosty in refusing to take down the review that was clearly for a very different book. I actually found the book for which it was intended--same genre, but very different plot and characters. I've tried to reconcile myself to it by noting that at least the reviewer gave the (other) book 5 stars. (Now attached to me!)

Wouldn't it be more productive to get a print edition out and selling? They really pay off in December.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

Good luck! -- NJ
