I am getting more and more demand to have my books in print in Australia (which continues to be a 80% physical book market). Has this changed in that KDP allows me to make print version available of my already published works on kindle in Australia?

All my paperbacks are available on the AU store. They are distributed by CreateSpace, so I don't know if KDP Print books get there or not.

They are sold by the Book Depository, a UK company. Distributing via CreateSpace "expanded distribution" gets the books onto the Book Depository site, though it may take some weeks.

Someone else will have to speak for KDP Print Beta. I regard CS as the better option for many reasons.

KDP-Print distrib*utes to the U.S., Europe and Japan, as they plainly state. Not even Canada, much less Australia.

Thanks for that information!

Yet another reason to use CreateSpace, apparently. Now that you mention Canada, I have always been puzzled by the fact that my books appear there a couple weeks after publication. On the AU site, there's a note that the books are sold by the Book Depository in the UK. So that must be the case in CA as well -- they are supplied by the Book Depository, which gets them through CreateSpace's expanded distribution option.

In Canada, the sales of CreateSpace paperbacks are through Amazon/CA, but it takes 30 days to set it up. Why KDP-Print can't do the same thing? It's a mystery. Why something can't be done about paperbacks in the antipodes? Also a mystery, but at least they seem to be available through third-party sellers, the very ones that our poor ignorant newbies often attack with hydrophobic rage.

No, they're sold by third-party outfits including the Book Depository, who source them through CreateSpace expanded distribution. There is no expanded distribution for KDP Print, ergo no books on CA or AU.

I see that some of my books on CA are sold by other outfits. I don't think that's the case in AU.

Here's what CreateSpace has to say about Canada:

"When you list a book title for sale on Amazon.com, within 30 days it will appear for sale on Amazon.ca as well. Amazon.com list prices will be converted from US dollars to Canadian dollars to determine the Amazon.ca list price. Royalties from Amazon.ca sales will be calculated based on your USD list price and reported as part of your USD sales for Amazon.com.

All products on Amazon.ca have dedicated Amazon.ca detail pages with descriptions, reviews from Amazon.ca users, ways to buy, and other information. After you list a title for sale, you may only change its description, keywords, BISAC Category, and list price. Please allow three to five business days for these changes to appear.

Any books you list will automatically have the Look Inside!™ feature added to their detail pages within two to three weeks, and any updates you make to books for sale will refresh in the Look Inside!™ feature within two to three weeks.

Orders placed for your book through Amazon.ca are subject to Amazon.ca's return policy, and will be handled by Amazon.ca—not CreateSpace."

Odd, I didn't realize "Look Inside" was trademarked.

Right. They don't handler returns because they didn't provide the book to the CA store. Here for example is the buy information for Notjohn's Guide in Canada:

CDN$ 17.44 + FREE SHIPPING
In Stock.
Ships from and sold by Book Depository CA.

Distribution by the Book Depository, a UK company with free shipping around the world, is one of the reasons that all my books are on expanded distribution via CreateSpace. The royalty is severely reduced, but it's a sale I wouldn't otherwise get.

The same is true of Australia.
