I'm afraid we've got a serial deleter. My long-running thread, "Know your Reports & Sales," disappeared yesterday from General Questions and has not returned. Posts I added to other threads have also disappeared. It looks like it's happening to others too. Not sure why this person has targeted those they've targeted. Look to see if your own posts are still there. (On GQ, there are almost no posts left where the last post was Dec. 10, so I think that was where the main deleting took place. So far I think it's restricted to GQ.)

If anybody sees my post, bump it up! (I already tried various search methods without success.)

Well, I was able to find the thread by searching my previous posts, but it's still "hidden." Bummer. I may have to copy the whole thing and start over. Unless it's not needed? I'd been getting 50-plus hits a day and had started it because so many newbies seemed to have trouble figuring out how to read their Reports.

Yes, I've noticed quite a few posts besides some of my own getting the old heave-ho, including, as you note, a few entire threads for awhile. Now, who could be going around deleting posts he doesn't like? Hmmm, I wonder. Well, as I recently pointed out to a fellow forum member, it's definitely not cool.

Also found it. Edited a comment to bump it, but to no avail in the thread list. Then I went back to the thread and checked. Sure enough -- your deleter cut the head off. It will remain hidden till the initial post gets reinstated.

I found it from a few days ago so it is not deleted. I tried to bump it up and no go.
I'll search further back and try again.
It may be part of the confusion going on at the Zon with what they are doing.

Is there a common theme to the threads that have disappeared? Or a common OP?

OK - Among many system lock-ups, I am guessing we will be seeing a new forum format soon.
Searching further for your older posts, I found two. Each lists 500 posts with the 'RE' on them and all are identical for each of the two.
Dates I found: Jan 26, 2017 at 9:11am and April 24 at 9:22am.
I tried bumping each up and from what I can get too (and NOT get to with the lock-up) neither is showing as a new post.
In doing my searches, sometimes NOTHING came up for you. The system is whacky!!!

Dale,

If your original post doesn't come back, I'd ask you to very kindly take the time to post it again. I would have copied and pasted it myself, but it's your work so only your name should be attached to it.

It's probably THE most relevant and useful post on the site, so it would be worth the effort it will take to post it again. I know I've signposted plenty of newbies to it.

Of all the posts to get deleted, it's absolutely absurd that yours was one!

Best wishes. J

About 20% of the time the pages error out when trying to load in a new tab, so I guess now it's decided to make us play treasure hunter with the useful threads. Fun! :(

I've been having problems trying to log in to change some book details. No problem accessing anywhere else on the site. It could be serial deleter, but I get the feeling there's a lot of hitches going on behind the scenes at Zon.

Since my thread clearly isn't coming back by itself, I contacted Amazon yesterday and asked them to find it. No response yet.

I assume the deleter was someone who was angry that the Reports didn't show millions of sales and took it out on me.

But how can they delete an entire thread? That's the thing that doesn't make sense.

If you delete the first post of a thread, the whole thing disappears.

I see. It's odd that the moderator didn't return it like they do with other posts.
Maybe I'm watching too much news on the TV lately, but it seems like something more devious is going on than a serial deleter.

The last whole thread I saw deleted was last week, when our obnoxious friend Brady Holland got his thread deleted after telling one of the ladies here to 'go die!'

I hadn't been following the recent messages on your thread, but assuming that nobody had added anything offensive anywhere, what else was there to get it deleted? Craziness!
