Hello everyone! I published my ebook in November and was wondering how long does it take to get your first royalty payment? I think I read 60 days after publishing; is that accurate? Also how often do you get your royalties after that?

My second question is, how can you track your sales, to see how many people have purchased your ebook?

Thank you.

Thank you.

Royalties are paid out roughly 60 days from the end of the month if you've set up to receive payment by bank transfer, so for November sales, expect to receive payment on 29th January, and for December sales, payment will come in roughly on 1st March, and so on.

If you want to track sales etc., you should click on Reports at the top of this page, and you will find all you need to know.

As you don't appear to have checked out the site yet, I suggest you read cdalebrittain's excellent thread Know Your Reports & Sales 2017 Edition It will tell you everything you need to know.

Best wishes. J

It's not 60 days after publishing; it's 60 days after the end of the month in which you make sales. So if you sold books in November, you will paid for those the end of January. For December sales, the end of February, and so on. So if you sell something every month, you will receive payment every month for the sales made two months previously. But as Julia says, read cdale's thread, which will answer most of your questions.

Look at the top of this page and click on REPORTS. Then click on Month-to-Date. Pay no attention to the pretty bar graph, which only confuses people.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

Good luck! -- NJ
