Is there a way to get a pdf out of Kindle Create?
Basically, I had plain text in a Word document and uploaded it onto Kindle Create. From there, I used Kindle Create's built-in functions to change fonts and formatting until it was publish-ready.
However, I want to publish both in eBook and Paperback. Paperback seems to only allow .doc and pdf instead of the Kindle Create file which is .kpf.
Is there a way to generate a pdf with Kindle Create? Or a method to upload my kpf file (or convert it to another type of file) for Paperback?

Thanks.

Never use one version to create the other. Start with your neutral manuscript and split it for Kindle and Paperback. Otherwise each is fighting against the proprietary formatting of the other.

As BL says, work from your Word doc. I prefer OpenOffice Writer to build the actual PDF.

You have discovered one of the limitations of Kindle Create: it can't be used for anything else. You can't sell that version on the Apple iBookstore, and you can't at present make a paperback out of it.

You say you UPLOADED your Word doc to Kindle Create. Does that you mean you used the online version rather than the plug-in for Word? Did you find it easy to work with? You apparently were pleased with the result; would you share the ASIN with us so others can check it out?

KC has been around for a while, but the results seem to be mixed.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

Good luck! -- NJ
