So I’ve released my first 2 short stories….

Do a search for my Book on Amazon… It comes up on the second page even though no book has a title resembling mine… maybe it’s because there are no reviews…

Gets reviews... they are deleted as biased… okay can’t know the reviewers…

Raise price of my bids in AMS to get more impressions while my Title is still in free promotion…

…wake up this morning to see the first sponsored product related to my book is literally titled “Gay first time short stories”

…How is your day going so far? (Sips coffee)

Sorry to hear about your troubles. However, you did help me learn why my impressions are showing on the third page. Going to raise my bid too and see what kind of results I get.

I really hope your day gets better.

Books are shown based on an individual's search history, popularity of the book (sales, borrows) and keywords used. Reviews don't really factor into the algorithm (at least I've never seen this mentioned or proven).

Sponsored products are shown based on the keywords the author has chosen, along with popularity and bid cost.

...nope. I just checked. Key words do not explain the association...

From an Email I received from customer support: "As for the Sponsored Product section, these are advertisements for products sold by merchants on Amazon.com. They are randomly selected by algorithms that we don't have control over and they are constantly changing. "

...which means the AI singularity is trolling me...

It is random, but it's also based on KEYWORDs. It's pretty obvious to me the common key phrase would be Short Stories.

... You can believe what you want... I choose the singularity :D

..It's changed since yesterday. I think customer service is sick of me by now... and maybe a little curious themselves of who is really in control of their algorithms... -creepy stare-

The long arm of the Zon has found you. I'd strongly recommend unplugging your microwave. Actually, to be safe, unplug all appliances...

...If you saw the related sponsored products now you'd unplug your appliances too... but you'd probably get hungry with all that 'beefcake'
