Just wondering if KDP is going to send me a receipt for my 2017 royalty income, for tax purposes, to be attached to my 2017, personal income tax form. I am a Canadian citizen.

Yes. It will probably come in March. It's got a different name than the 1099 US citizens get, but you will definitely get something. Note that it will only cover income (royalties) paid in 2017, not earned (so October royalties yes, Nov-Dec no, because those aren't paid until 2018).

It's a 1042-S, but it doesn't have much significance for you if you had no tax withheld. Surely you don't have to attach these things to your CA tax return?

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

You might check under your account (not your Bookshelf) and see if anything is there for you to download.
