After selecting to download kdp word add-in, I don't see my word 2016 icon. I see the Kindle Create icon and an 'EULA' icon adjacent to a generic word icon that seems to have replaced my word 2016 icon. If I click on the word/eula icon, its a copy of word that is 'EULA Compatibility Mode'. What happened to my 2016 word install?

From what I can find on that from a web search, it is a BETA program.

Though a few people here have used it successfully, I don't see much point to Kindle Create (which I think is what you are talking about). If you can use styles in Word, you really don't need it; and if you can't, it won't help you.

You should be able to return your Windows computer (assuming it's Windows and not Apple OS) to the status quo ante without losing any files. That should give you back your missing item.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

Good luck! -- NJ
