Hello All,

Could you advise as to which version of book cover takes precedence in a published kindle book - (assuming there is a small difference due to an error) the book cover version embedded in the mobi file or the version of the cover that one has to upload separately on KDP when publishing the book? Or do both the covers appear on amazon for.e.g. different book cover in thumbnail and the one in the book ?

Thanks!

You can copy one from your Bookshelf, save it as a JPEG and upload to the other.
Problem solved.

You really shouldn't include a cover in your book file. In most cases the included cover will simply be suppressed in favor of the Product Image, but sometimes you wind up with TWO covers in the cover, which looks a bit odd (they will be sized a bit differently) and adds to the "weight" of the book in megabytes, hence adds to the download fee you must pay.

So I would recommend deleting the included image as you upload the new Product Image. They will mosh together in the publishing process. There will be a delay of a few days before the changes show on the Amazon store page and in the Look Inside sample, but new customers should get the revised version quite soon.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

Good luck! -- NJ
