A teenage boy is found hanged in his bedsit. Is this a tragic suicide or something more sinister? Detective Inspector Susan Hayward suspects the latter and her instincts are sadly accurate as she investigates the death of a lonely teenager left to fend for himself.
As the investigation unfolds Susan discovers she is up against more than a case of murder, there is a sinister movement that is systematically abusing young people who are living alone and are products of the care system.
Tormented by an infernal spirit, Cero Tsaonni is forced to document the tales of The Scourged Lands of Gaia in this Dark Fantasy blend of prose and poetry. The tale opens within the ruins of The Elm City: where a band of refugees is threatened by a cryptic evil lurking the Riverstein Forest to the north. Zoe -- daughter of Carla and Jason -- has vanished in the middle of the night without a trace, possibly falling victim to the vile necromancy. Enter: Cantos – a violent Nomad of Orion, who, through his enslavement of the demon, Dibiuloanasius, unleashes evil against evil while wandering the vast expanses of Gaia. In this 1st (of 3) serialized chapters chronicling Book I, Cantos learns of their plight while traversing through the forest and slaying 3 of the tartarean fiends. He decides to pay the refugee camp a visit, binding himself towards securing Zoe’s “repossession”, and leading the band to their salvation…for a price. Intense, violent, and with a touch of romantic drama: Scourged Land: Book I: Arrisal, is a brand new series inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E Howard, and other greats of the past -- constructed as if translated from a lost, cryptic language of an ancient world unknown.

I'm dipping my toe in the KDP waters to see how it goes... my first short story is a post apocalyptic sci-fi story with a little actual science thrown in at the end. I'm currently working on a novel that I intend to publish here as well. Thank you for the opportunity to post the link here.
