Has anyone else received an email like this? I know my banking information is accurate, and I received my December deposits. To my knowledge, I've never had an Italy payment before, so I suspect that's the problem, but I'm curious to see if others are experiencing this. Thanks.
We’ve tried to make an electronic payment to your bank account for royalties related to your Amazon KDP account, but the payment was rejected due to invalid banking information.
The failed payment(s) occurred in the following marketplaces:
Your payments will be placed on hold until your banking information is corrected.
To update your bank information:
Sign in to KDP: https://kdp.amazon.com/. (In Japan, https://kdp.amazon.com.jp/)
Click "(Your Name) Account" at the top right
Under "Your Royalty Payments," next to your bank account, click “Edit”
In the drop-down box at the top of the window, select the country where your bank account is located
Correct any other bank account details and click "Done"
Click "SAVE" and your bank account details will be updated.
If you have recently received payment and believe your banking information is correct, please Contact Us as you may not be receiving all your royalties.

I would be very careful of this. First, were you expecting a payment from the Italian site? It will show up on your reports. Never, ever follow a link that asks you to update your bank details. If I were you, I would contact kdp via their contact us link on their website, not through the email, and ask them to verify. Send a copy of the email so they know what you are talking about.
It is also possible that your bank can tell you if there has been a failed payment. The link for the contact us says kdp/self-publishing/contact us. If I click on it, it takes me to my account without the self publishing bit in the address bar. Look at the address bar; it usually gives them away. Stay suspicious - stay safe.
That's one of the reasons I'm asking here. I didn't click on the links they provided. I just logged in through my account and updated (basically confirmed) my banking info that way, and then used the "Contact Us" link to send an email to the Help Desk. I copied and pasted the email, but didn't reply to it directly. As far as if I was expecting an IT payment...I have no idea. My computer crashed, so I can't access the RAs from last month, and I didn't get one from this month. The whole email "smells" funny, which is why I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I'm not sure where Phishers would have gotten my email address to send me this, if it's a fake, but you can't be too cautious.
P.S. Thanks for the idea about the failed payment. I'll contact my bank to see if they have any record.
You would have got a remittance advice a couple of weeks before the due date, as I always get one from every site that owes me money. If you didn't get that, then it sounds wrong. I never know where they get their information from, but they obviously do so you can never be too careful.
See, I don't remember getting an RA from AmazonIT last month. I checked my reports as far back as June, and I didn't have any sales in Italy. I suppose there is a small sale or two lurking further back. I know they sent out several payments for different channels last month (and this month), since they removed the minimum payment threshold. I've been with Amazon KDP for about three years, but I'm sure the Italian channel doesn't go that far back, so is it likely I have a payment of less than $10 that was due for sometime in the past year-ish? I don't know, but the whole thing is very strange, especially since I've had no problems receiving my other payments.
I'm getting a barrage of emails telling me that my "Account" can't accept the deposit.
I have logged in, deleted my account, re-entered all the information and saved the page as instructed.
Now I'm wondering if this is some scam to get my account information?
I contacted the KDP staff, but haven't received a reply as yet. (two weeks).
