Hmmmm. I'm really touched by the testimonies of those selling that large numbers of books per day. I just published my first book last week and from my report page so far, no sale yet. This is the link to my book both on createspace and kindle
Please Beloved, be the first to buy my book to boost my confidence in writing. The links here
Hard copy https://www.createspace.com/4954070

Thanks so much and God bless

right now my daily sales are near 200. I am expecting it to go up to about 400-600 a day after my release next week though.

And won't be. I'm not trying to discourage you, but 26 pages priced at $2.99 from an unknown author won't sell. Also, your blurb is bad, you have errors, you have formatting issues, and the cover is not good.

I know you said on another thread that you write fantasy. May I ask if your author name is Dale Jackson? Or maybe it's just coincidence that there is a fantasy writer with that name.

That's a relief because, if you were that fantasy author claiming to sell 6,000 books a month, I'd be worried that you might be living in fantasy land.

Okay, thanks, done that. As I make a point of never revealing my author name, I'm sorry if I pushed you into doing so. You may want to edit your post to me and remove it.

Suffice it to say this post of mine will demonstrate that your claims are accurate. And I applaud you for your success.

With respect, villa.

Why hide from it? Or are you expecting some for of retaliation from people who troll these boards?

Robert, it happens. I don't always agree with people on this forum, and haven't always done so on other forums. I've seen others who have revealed their author name be hit for just that.

I'm actually very proud of my success as an indie author, but I won't advertise my sales numbers and rankings because there are people I've aggravated who are in a position (and if they so desire) who would attempt to damage me if they could.

With all due respect to the poster whose user name is dale jackson, I did sort of challenge his claims. I happen to respect him for answering that challenge. My concern now is for him. Why? Because I've seen it happen when "fellow" authors become jealous of success.

Mr Adams if I knew how I wouldn't be pulling my hair out now that sales have slumped to 30-40 a day. I understand a lot of authors don't see those kind of numbers so I don't want to appear too conceited.

I'm new to this, but you guys are offering some really good advice. Its easy to lose what the real focus is (writing) when you're worrying about sales.

Thats brilliant news :)
We could all do with success stories this week. Mine are a teeny tiny burp in comparison but I see new dental work on the horizon....three years hence lol.
This thread though is rather like the opppsite of sage advice given to me years before Ryanair...to paraphrase, never ask the person sitting next to you on the plane the price of their air ticket ;)

Paul

You're not 'conceited', I'm just aghast when a newbie can hit high sales immediately. I just wonder, 'OK, so what am I missing out on here?'

I'm always looking for new marketing ideas, as I do most of those suggested here (& elsewhere) with limited success.

Any new suggestions are always most welcome. (I don't think getting friends and family to buy at a self funded $0.99 would work anything more than 10s of copies, Certainly not 100s per day)

Maybe price is an issue. Are you at 99c (or free?) rather than my prices of $2.99?
