It's obvious that we are all getting puffed. Just like a policeman faultering a police report for his own interests, Amazon has the same capabilities and interests in misreporting sales. There NEEDS to be one or more independent auditors for all police encounters and Kindle sales.
I published a revolutionary 'Txt Msg' formatted edition of Huk Fin in honor of Mark Twain, and somehow it, as well as its series editions have sold a whopping 3 copies since March. Haa, either they're B-S-ing all of us or nobody cares when literary history is made. I think they're crooked. Why would anybody in their right mind buy a Kindle, when all you have to do is download the free app to your smartphone that is capable of hundreds of thousands of more things at pretty much the same price?
At least we are all witnesses to this atrocity. I smell a lawsuit, or a whole bunch. AGREE?
I previously posted I noticed a complete standstill but then I purchased a download to test it and within a half hour or so, the sale showed up. So unless there were more sales than mine, it was working. Since then a standstill despite more people saying they were downloading RIGHT THEN. I'm obviously not going to ask people if they purchased, I"m not going to big brother them. I imagine people SAY they are downloading and NOT downloading YET.
I often wonder if a group of employees within Amazon have found a way of ripping off both the author and Amazon. I cannot imagine a large company risking bad publicity by stealing from its authors. But I can well imagine a group of nefarious employees doing so.
Anyway make a great plot for a book. Someone please write it.
Revolutionary 'text message' format? Um, that might be why you aren't selling many copies, my friend.
Some people may have purchased just out of curiosity, but 'text speak' irritates a lot of people. Since you don't have anything about text speak in the title, it just looks like someone illiterate put it up.
I'm not saying you're illiterate, just that that's the impression the title gives.
If I saw that in a search, I would pass right over it after blinking a few times to be certain of what I was seeing.
Since enrolling my memoir, Six Cats In My Kitchen, in KDP Select, it's been downloaded an amazing number of times. Many were free downloads but a fair number were paid purchases. The book has sold actively every day -- until today. Not one sale reported since I first checked early this morning. Now I'm wondering if something's wrong. Could it be Ammy is so overloaded with purchases by new Kindle owners that their system is just not working smoothly right now?
I have a theory about the way sales are reported. The sales taking place at the USA store but ordered outside of the country show up almost immediately. The sales within USA , Amazon holds back and releases them in weekly groups.
