So now that Amazon has added the new columns on the sales reports page (Free price match and free promotion), things seem to be very confused.

1. One of my free stories, which as been free for several months now, is listed as having a paid sale.

2. One of my paid stories, which is listed for $.99, has a sale listed under the free price match column.

I double checked to make sure the listing was still at $.99, and it is. What the heck is going on here?

I guess no one is perfect, even Amazon. Give it a little time and see if it straightens out. Mine seem to be right so far.

I was wondering if perhaps there is price matching going on between amazon uk and com for example. I have a book that was up on select as a free offer and it has never been anywhere for free ever before.

The tail end of the promotion was on March 1st early in the AM so there were a handful of sales on the new report with the new breakdowns.

Anyway there were 2 books given for free in the UK and one is listed as "price matched"... since the title has only been available for a month in any form whatsoever and since it is only on Amazon a price match does seem pretty darn unlikely unless its matching prices internal to the Amazon network.... whcich also seems unlikely since the matching would have to occur in the matter of hours

Or,maybe it's just an error. Anyway not going to worry about it.

Huh! I don't think Amazon is ready to admit yet that things are a litltle screwed up. I just checked my sales report for March and it shows 48 "Free" promotion books credited for March, I have only had one free promotion day and it was mid January!

Also, I have no actual sales posted for March yet even though my book has been moving around the rankings by large amounts.

I hope they at least admit to us they are working on the problem.
