Why my uploaded book gets converted to a 'octet-stream' file?

I am new to using Kindle Direct Publishing and I have uploaded one book recently, with pictures, and it converted nicely into a mobi file and uploaded to Amazon Kindle without issue. I figured out how to convert the Word file into html filtered, compress together and upload.

However, my second book won't upload on Amazon as a mobi in the bookshelf. Instead it uploads as a 'application/octet-stream'? When I try to view the document on Amazon's Kindle Previewer application, it gives an error - yet the Bookshelf tells me it uploaded successfully. I find this confusing - especially since this second book is all text and no pictures.

Is a 'application/octet-stream' ok for upload or am I doing something wrong and it should have uploaded like a mobi file like my first book. I followed the same steps as my first book but the upload result is always different. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If it uploaded and converted successfully, how did it look in the online Preview (Step 6)?
