@pkrosetti They may have changed the policy on paper checks recently, I'm not sure. Last year I was paid with paper checks and there was no fee. I signed up for direct deposit at year's end and to answer your question, no, there is currently no processing fee for direct deposit. I would assume the fee isn't based on a threshold, but rather a flat fee. That's how many other publishing sites work. However you would have to contact them directly for a solid answer unless someone else on the board knows. Sorry.

I just received my paper cheque (I'm in Canada) from Amazon. It arrived automatically, as people said it would. No money was withheld, as I provided a ITIN - a bit of work for non-US writers but worth the effort.

Can you explain me how to fill the form for the US$ account?
I have no American account but I have a Pay Pal account, is it possible to be paid on this Paypal? instead of paying exchange fees to French bank?

Hoping that someone can help me understand this. I do understand that royalties are not paid until I have reached $10.00 or more.
My question is this. As of apr 7th I have a total of 72 US sales @ 70% but my total is only $2.78 WHY?

It is my understanding that you must have a valid checking account to publish and that Paypal won't work. This is just my understanding and may not be correct, I would advise contacting Amazon directly about it.

@suchanewbie I'm not sure unless you ran a promotion for free books at one point and most of your 72 sales are actually free buys. Also, you want to remember the date of the sales posted and the 60 day waiting period. For example, the lines showing sales at 3/31/2012. Money for these sales won't arrive until the end of June.

Yes, Thank you. I do understand the 60 day wait but should not the sales report correctly calculate royalties for only actual sales not including promotional copies. As you can see by my original post on Apr 7th a sale was made at 70% but no royalty earned.
I do not desire to get rich by the sale of my book but if they (Amazon) claim to pay royalty, then pay they should.

My sales started in december 2011. Granted that sales have been limited but to date I have received no royalties. Whatever the threshold to receive royalties how do I know that I am in the system so that when the threshold is met my royalties will arrive.

Sorry, there is no way to check. If there is a problem with any of your information, Amazon will email the address you have on file to let you know. Otherwise, it's a matter of waiting sixty days after the end of the month that you hit the threshold of either $10 or $100.

Okay, I understand you don't get paid for EFT payments until you hit the $10 mark...but when you DO get paid, do they pay all of your royalties up until the paydate?

For instance, if I made $10 in February, and I get paid at the end of April, will the April pay be for ALL the royalties in February AND the months following? Like if I earned $10 in February, and then another $10 in March, will the end of April paycheck be for $20? Or is it only paid for one month at a time? Or will all my total royalties up until the April pay be paid all at once so my balance is $0?

I'm assuming that they only pay the months in which you accrued $10 or more one month at a time. Like They pay what you made in February (as long as it's $10 or more) at the end of April. Then they pay what you made in March (as long as it's $10 or more) at the end of May. It just makes more sense to pay your entire royalties all at one time so your balance starts back at zero.

Hello i live in the uk and have made $100 from US sales and was wondering a few things like;
Will the check be equal to $100 and i have to change it or will it be £100?
When do the 60 days start end of the month or the 15th?
will the cheque take longer for me as i am in the UK?
Is there anything else you could tell me that would be usefull thanks

I'm also in the UK.
Cheque payment is in $, not £. Your bank will charge a small fee for processing it (£5 fee with my own bank) and converting it to £. It will take about 10-14 days for the money to clear.
I believe the 60 days starts from the end of the month.
Cheques are generally received promptly, within a week of posting.

I understood that royalties have to amount to $100 in the month before a check is sent. I've sold many many books but have received nothing. If I don't reach $100 in a single month, when do I get the royalties accrued from previous months?
