Hello fellow authors, It's nice to be in forum with like minded people. More Than A Notion is available both in paperback and eBook.
Have you ever awakened from a dream and remarked, “It seemed so real!" You knew you were dreaming, but could not shake the feeling that it felt like so much more. We have all experienced those mornings when we would rather do anything except go to work at a job we loathe. For Lena Delgado, wife and mother of three, that morning arrived when she simply could not face another day of her drab existence and literally ends up "stuck in her dream".
In More Than A Notion, Lena takes lucid dreaming one step further when she escapes to a place one relegated to the deep recesses of her mind, travels to exotic Italy, and literally bumps into the man of her dreams. She questions decisions made during her marriage and realizes life is too short to be unhappy. On a quest to discover if dreams really do come true, Lena embarks upon an adventure-filled journey where she meets interesting characters that challenge her to step out of her comfort zone. In the process, she rediscovers herself and finds out it what it truly means to be alive.
How far will you go and what will you do in the name of love? This contemporary multicultural, multiethnic romance novel reveals it is More Than A Notion to take a leap of faith into the unknown and answer the call of destiny.
Hi all. My first novel, Bubbles Pop, is a retelling of Cinderella with a twist, told from three first person perspectives. Sales have been slow so far, but I hope the description catches some eyes here!
"Sixteen-year-old Elle grew up in the most fashionable neighborhood in Philadelphia with everything a girl could want. But when the economy crashes and Elle's father passes away, she moves to the drab suburbs with her stepmother Marie and new sisters Claire and Danielle. Marie seems to care more about work than her family and forces Elle to clean things--a torture Elle would do anything to avoid. Worst of all, the idiotic school "prince," Steve, falls for her at a party and won't leave her alone. Elle prefers Galen, a serious transfer student who may be the first person she could care about as much as herself. The problem? Galen is Steve's best friend.
Fourteen-year-old Claire fell in love with Steve Brendan at first sight, just like in one of her best friend Julie's romance novels. Nicknamed the "Prince of Loire High," Steve has a rich playboy reputation Claire knows is just talk. However, she also knows that Steve only hangs around her to get close to her beautiful sister Elle. When Claire blossoms into a beauty herself, the boys take notice--including Steve. But with the changes in her body comes a new perspective, and Claire starts to see the not-so-charming flaws in her beloved prince.
Twenty-one-year-old Danielle grew up too fast, and her emotions never quite caught up. Saddled with an alcoholic father and a workaholic mother, Danielle acted as a surrogate parent for her young sister Claire. She juggles college classes with her job at Kingston's Bookstore with no time or patience left for relationships. When Danielle meets Chris, a successful video game developer, she faces a dilemma: marry a wealthy man she might love and enjoy the easy life, or stick to her principle to rely on no one but herself?
Bubbles Pop follows the intertwined lives of the three sisters through one crucial year as they learn how to manage relationships, deal with disappointment, and take charge of their own happily-ever-afters."
To all readers who love a great thriller.
My author name is Martin Sandforth.
Lovers of well-written thrillers with a great plot might like to try reading “The Reverse Deal” (Published on Amazon as a Kindle e-Book in December of 2011).
Disillusioned private investigator, Edward Harris, sells his stake in his PI business and leaves to build houses with his brother Joe. When cash-flow problems arise in his new company, Edward seeks temporary employment with his former business associate, Jasper Coleheart. Jasper, who had been investigating suspected money-laundering within a Dutch bank, has had to abandon his client to undergo surgery back in the USA.
From his sickbed, Jasper entrusts Edward with several tasks including the recovery of confidential documents from a deposit box in an Amsterdam bank vault. Work goes well until Edward is devastated by terrible news of Jasper's murder. Enraged and seeking justice, Edward follows the trail of evidence in Amsterdam. Unwittingly, he draws the attention of a sophisticated group of violent criminals. A hunter of Jasper's murderer, Edward suddenly finds himself being hunted, and is forced to run. Now fighting for his very survival, Edward struggles to unlock the mystery of Jasper's last investigation. Then he meets a stranger, a man who can resolve his dilemma, but at a terrible price -- that of The Reverse Deal...
Set in the USA, UK and parts of Europe, “The Reverse Deal” is approximately 72,000 words in length.
I've tossed a short story out for a buck through KDP. "The Ballad of the Wayfaring Stranger and the Dead Man's Whore" is a backcountry horror story that combines murder ballads, folk songs and blues riffs to make something that I hope creates a solid sense of place.
I have lowered the price of my first book about my life story growing up as a Jehovah's Witness. I would love for you to check it out as well as refer friends and family that may deal with the same issues I had to deal with as a witness and an x-witness.
My story will open the eyes of those who thought this group was of God. Please take out the time to read my story.
Today (Saturday 21st April 2012) my thriller/mystery/mild horror novella is a free download!

[: "A unique work of fiction by a master storyteller” per The Midwest Book Review. This is a general fiction/medical drama ~ 84,000 words:
Hurricane Ivan roars into the Gulf of Mexico as Karen Puno and her dog scramble to evacuate a barrier island and a teacher with liver disease is placed on an organ transplant list. But fate is not always kind. It’s not the hurricane which causes Karen’s coma and subsequent organ donation. Nor is it responsible for her battered dog who escapes the crushed metal pile into the blowing sand and gusty wind.
A homeless dog and diverse lives from Indiana to Peru come together after Karen’s accident, impacting each other in permanent, intense, and heartfelt ways. Is fate kind after all?
I have a Fantasy genre novel called "Birth of the Flame" for sale that I'd love to see some reviews for. Genuine feedback can be hard to come by!
Here is a sample:
Dynworia knew he couldn’t afford that moment’s distraction even before his gruesome opponents began to overtake him. She loosed an arrow, piercing the closest one’s skull. Its bleeding eyes shot to her and her breath caught. What should have been a lethal hit only seemed to anger the creature further. It lunged towards her, decaying arms reaching out. She drew her sword with a tremor of fear.
A deep, chilling laughter rolled over her and a pale-skinned elf shimmered into view on the hilltop. “Foolish child, what did you think that would accomplish?”

This review is from: The Orphan, The Soulcatcher, And The Black Blizzard (Paperback)
This book is an awesome start to a great adventure. The book sucks you into old chicago and integrates the struggles of reality with the mystery of the mythological. It's entertaining and eloquently written, witty! Overall, I loved it! Can't wait to continue the journey!
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm only half way through the book since school started it's hard to find time for pleasure reading but so far this book is the perfect get away! Once you start you won't wanna stop
When is book two coming out?
The Orphan, the Soul Catcher and the Black Blizzard is a great novel. It interweaves historical Chicago and adventure so seamlessly it as if the events of the book are absolute fact not fiction. The story itself paces well. Each scene, character and event are described so well that I could clearly visualize the scene in my head as I read the words. The book sets a fast pace from the opening chapters and keeps up a feverish tempo all the way through to the end. The story is told in such a way that you can really feel the emotions that each character undergoes. The ending chapter does an excellent job of closing out the first part of this saga, but it also sets a deep hook for the 2nd novel. I'll be anxiously awaiting part two of this series. This book seems to be targeted at the young adult, but I'm 28 and loved it too. I'd see it as being age appropriate for almost anyone to read. It's a great adventure. I gave it 5 stars because that is the max Amazon would allow.
