First time ever using a Community forum like this to get help. Came here beyond frustrated and feeling hopeless. Yes, it showed in my initial plea for help. But the sarcasm and condescending nature of some of the responses? Yikes. Any self-respecting people on here who are genuinely kind to others and not on an ego trip? Time will tell. :) To the one(s) who offered help and were respectful, thank you.

Hi Faith...If you've never uploaded Word and never uploaded a KKBC mobi, then perhaps you need some more info.

You're images could be poor for any number of reasons. And if you used copy and paste to insert them into Word or adjusted your image size within Word then that's he wrong way to do it and your images will probably pixelate and look awful. Always adjust your images outside Word and only use Insert > Picture in Word to insert your images into the Word doc.

Another bit of advice which might help. Generally, if you are using pdf or jpeg images containing text in KKBC you should double the size of your normal font size. For instance for normal reading text(12pt) use 24pt and for headng text (16pt) use 32pt. Doing this stops the text looking too small in the images.

For more detailed info on how to format your Kid's Book using KKBC, here is some more info which might be useful to you:

I read through your earlier thread, and I see only one response I would call sarcastic or condescending. The others were helpful, or trying to be.

We do have our share of belittlers, but the worst of them haven't been all that active lately.

Good luck! -- NJ

I guess my question is like going into a crowded shopping mall and asking (assuming) if all people are as impolite as the one or two I encountered. An online forum is much bigger; I can expect all kinds to be on here. It's the reality and beauty of diversity. I'll try to toughen up.

I didn't read (or don't recall reading) your original post, but one of the first things I learned when I started out as an author is that you have to develop an extremely thick skin.

Think of these forums as a sandbox where you can work on that elephant hide, and then you'll be ready when you get your first one-star review :)
