Is there anything we can do to help? :)

I'm happy to try to work through debugging or whatever.

I published my new work on May 19 and although the product page has shown up ASIN: B0019RUDDM with description, it is still in the Not Yet Available status. Could someone check that it is not in the "stuck" category alluded to in other posts in this thread. Thank you.

I was wondering the same thing. I "published" my book ("From Timber Ridge to Daymer Gardens") a week ago. It is still designated as "Ready."

How long does it take to go "Live"?

That's part of the problem, but not all of it.
As far as I can tell, none of the books that I have "published" over the last 3 weeks have gone "live" yet.
They are labelled "please wait".
Every once and a while one of them will be relabelled "Ready". In that case I "publish" again and then see "please wait" again.

Are you making any progress on this?

Thanks for your help.

richard -

i've been having the same problem with my book - i've done the publish-wait-back-to-ready thing three times now since the site upgrade. i decided that i'm just going to try and load up the book in a "new" entry and publish it to see if it gets out.

of course, that just means that the "new" one will go live, followed immediately by the old one, so there'll be copies out there all over the place... :P

cheers,
mike

I finally set up a new title and submitted that yesterday and its up there already. Now I have one live and working, and one vestigial and flaky. Oh well. I also now have 2 ASIN's, but the book already has an ISNB 10 and 13, so I'm not lost and that will make it to a product page in a few days. HOWEVER, my experience has been discussed on the Kindle forum set aside for Kindle authors and their publications ("Have You Published a Kindle Book - We want to Know.") and there are many gun-shy kindle authors who now feel they are playing Russian roulette with their uploads. So when this fix is in place, please let me know and I'll continue to act as point person on the issue for those forum of authors, as well as Kindleholics Anonymous, which is also author based. We realize that writing, marketing and programming are separate beasts, but in this case, they need to mesh together in a carefree way - tra la la la. (It sounded to Gilbertian and needed a Mikado touch). After all, we now all live in Titi-pu. Thanks

I was very frustrated about my book not being available, especially after 4 months. I finally got ahold of someone at Kindle Support who suggested that I resubmit it. It worked!! Now my book You're 50, Not Finished! is available on Kindle. I sold my first copy the very first day it was available.

ditto here - i decided to go ahead and create a second DTP version, since the first seems to be hopelessly stuck in an endless ready-publishing-ready cycle and refuses to go live. my main irritation there (aside from the obvious fact that it wasn't working!) was that the new one won't have an associated sales history, and thus will be starting from ground zero again.

now i just have to wait for the description and categories to catch up with it, which hopefully will happen soon. in the meantime, i'm going to tempt fate and upload a different version of the HTML file, as the first one appears to be far too large for some reason, and the sample also had a curious character (a "?" inside a square box) before the first letter of the main text...

but hey, at least it's out there! LOL

cheers,
mike

Another major source of irritation is inability contact Amazon directly -- instead if you have a problem, you have to come here and post it publicly in this forum.

So far, no answer except from others who are in the same boat I am. No response from Amazon.

Why, Amazon? Why do you make it so hard for people to sell books through Kindle?

There is a known issues where sometimes certain
titles are shown as Not Yet Available. We're
continuing to work on fixing this problem.

Well, I have been waiting and waiting and yet, my listing still says: Not Yet Available." I read that you are trying to fix the problem but can you give me a time frame of how long it might take to fix it? I have been waiting over a week for something that should have taken 12 to 72 hours. Just give me an idea of what to expect.

Hello,

to help us fix the issue with some titles appearing as 'Not Yet Available,' please send a list of any ASINs that you have tried to publish and that currently don't have a buy button yet to dtp-support@amazon.com

We are trying to track down any and all ASINs that are experiencing this, and would appreciate your assistance.

Thank you.

FYI -- that problem persists.

I have more than two dozen books that have been in limbo for three weeks or more.

Every once in a while some of them will change from "please wait" back to "Ready" and I'll click to "Publish" them again; then they go to "please wait" again. But they never go Live.

What should I do?

Thanks.
