I uploaded yesterday (had the Firefox scrollbar issues so used Chrome) morning and it is still in "Publishing" status. I'm a relatively new KDP author just last month. Is that typical for Month End due to high activity or something? Is there a Publishing Hold when month end activity is happening or is something else going on?

I'm having the same issue. My new Vampira collection just launched, but since it's still in publishing status, I can't access KDP select so I can launch my free promo days. HELP Amazon!

Company in misery I guess. Thanks! At least now I know it's not just me.

It shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

Sometimes things just happen... just like on your own computer...

Sometimes it's best to just CANCEL and start again.

Same here, I believe maybe it has to do with May Day?
Nobody working and checking the publications?

Same here: updated book with a new edition yesterday. Today the dashboard still reads "Publishing" and no "Congratulations ..." email has been sent.

However, the book page on the Amazon web sites show the updated edition.

uh-oh...

I thought they were talking about the upload process... sometimes that goes crazy and you have to stop and re-start it.

What your are seeing... that the Dashboard still shows Publishing for a day or so after the book is actually available -- is normal.

Sorry if I confused anyone!

I got an email from amazon, saying it might take 48 hours to update the bookshelf, but that the new title was available for purchase.....sure enough it is, but still has not updated on my bookshelf or on my Author Page.

I personally think it's somehow related to month-end processing. I've not seen anything nearly this slow with my previous two titles.

Kenny,

It's not related to month-end processing. 2-3 days, even 4, can be typical before it shows up on your Bookshelf. If your book is available on Amazon, then you can promote it. As soon as it shows on your Bookshelf you should be able to link it through your Amazon Authors Central page. You may even be able to do that now. I would at least give it a try. At the very least, your book is there and people can search your name, find your book and buy it.

I have four published ebooks on Amazon. Never has it taken longer than 24 hours from submission to the congratulatory email.

I'm having the exact same problem you all are, right down to the Firefox scrollbar issue. My book is listed as "publishing", can be purchased anyway if you search for it. As long as I'm not losing any sales, I guess I can wait, but WTF?

I'm having the same 'problem'. I published yesterday morning. It's coming up on the 24 hour mark, and it still says 'publishing', although it is already there for sale, and has already been bought five or so times.

It also says 'enroll' under KDP Select, even though I told it to enroll in the publishing process.

Since it is there for sale, it's not a big problem, but this is my first book, and I'd hoped for it too work a little smoother.

Same here, my previous two took at the MOST 12 hours. I'm going on 48 now and no change. This is ridiculous.

I've had a book marked as 'publishing' for over 52 hours now. It's live on Amazon, with a slightly higher price and a minor formatting issue I'm keen to update before tomorrow's official release date.

It seems there are a number of people with the same issue. None of my other releases have taken this long to go through.

I now wonder whether to upload the same book with the correct format & price as a 2nd edition, just to get the right version out. But I don't want any copyright bots to shut me down. Hugely frustrating.
