Right then, i am ready to feel the wrath of the long time contributors, but i have searched and searched and still have some doubts about this subject.
My query is this: I already have some books on Amazon and Kindle under my real name but I have a title i wish to publish under a pen name. As it's a subject that is personal (ie a health issue) It would cause embarrassment if published under my real name.
I know how to upload and publish etc, but I want to be absolutely sure of the procedure so that it's not linked to my other books.
I publish under two different names to separate my erotica line from my non-erotic fiction. I publish them in the same dashboard, but under different author names, that's all. You will even get two different Author Central pages for your different names. I have two:
If you are writing under a pen name for more reasons other than to just separate genres, you will have to go the whole nine yards and have two separate websites and/or blogs as well. I have one website/blog for everything.
I agree. You won't have any trouble as long as you use your pen name and a different publisher name. You can leave the publisher blank or put your pen name in there if you want. If you leave the publisher name the same, searching for the publisher can bring up both your real name books and your pen name books together.
I actually created two seperate accounts for my real name and my pen name, as like a poster above, for my erotica and non-erotica-fiction. But if I understand correctly (end of work week, brain fried), I didn't need to create two seperate accounts, as I can just use one, and no one will know the difference.
I use three pen names. One is my real name, another for my mystery books and another, which my grandkids do NOT know about is erotica. When they are older, then, grandma can explain but don't be afraid to use a new name. Amazon knows who you are..the money will get to you!
