HOW TO USE PAYONEER?

Introduction: In 2012, I started publishing my books on the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing platform. Now my first problem was resolved, which was about how to make my books available to potential customers worldwide. But soon afterwards, another problem came up—payment problem.
As you might have seen already, KDP and CreateSpace do not accept bank accounts outside the USA, and Europe. For this reason, there was no way for me to get paid! Then I thought of Google. I then began to search for things like MasterCard, Credit Card and much more. Before long, I came across Payoneer Company. It was too good to be true that they can give me their MasterCard/credit for FREE.

Yes, it was true. I then signed up for the card, and after some time the application was approved and the card was sent to me in South Sudan. I then went to my Payoneer account online and activated the card. I was also given a US Payment Service detail, now known as Global Payment Service. From that time on, I receive payments from both CreateSpace and KDP every 29th of each month. Therefore, if you have payment issues, Payoneer may help.

Step 1: Sign Up

To get the card you have to fill the form: Payoneer dot com
Make sure you fill the form well, and then save it. Payoneer will send you an email message, so make sure you have access to that email. Many people have more than one email account, so make sure you use the one you access frequently.

Step 2: Activate the card

After the sign up is done and the application is approved, you will receive your card. This may take time depending on where you live on the planet. For me it took 3 weeks and some days, before I could handle the physical card. To activate the card, login to your Payoneer account, and follow the activation steps from there.
In order to get paid, you may need to sign up for the US Payment Service, provided by Payoneer. But since things change most of the time, this service is now called Global Payment Service. I have no idea whether you will be qualified for a bank account as soon as your application is a proved or not. Kindly follow the instructions given to you by Payoneer, to get your bank account details. You need this in order to get paid by KDP or CS.

Step 3: KDP Payment Settings

When you have all the needed information from Payoneer, it’s time to set up your KDP payment account. To do this, follow the steps below.

1. Login to your KDP account http://kdp.amazon.com.
2. Click Bookshelf.
3. Click your account name on top.
4. Fill in the required information and save the changes.

After adding your Company/Publishing information, you have to complete the Tax Information too. If your country has no tax treaty with the US, you may see 30% withdrawal in your account. This means you can claim that money later when you have the right documents needed by the US Internal Revenue Service—IRS. My account is subject to 30% Tax withdrawal fees, since Kenya or South Sudan is not qualified for a US Tax Treaty. I may fix this later or never. I have no problem paying taxes to the government anyway.
When you update your payment information on KDP, it may take about 60 days before you get paid through this new payment method. I also advise you to choose EFT as the payment method.

I hope this helps. Kindly ask a question below if you need more help.

Good luck!

I have no straight forward answer to this question.
I applied for the card because I need it, so there was no reason to cancel the application.

You may search for ways to cancel one, or ask Payneer for help.

After you 1) receive and 2) activate your card, they will provide you with a Global Payment Service, which includes your bank account details, need by Amazon.
You will have:

1. Bank Name
2. Account Number
3. Routing Number
4. Account Type and,
5. Beneficiary Name (Your name)

They made it possible for me to have multiple bank accounts in one place. I have two accounts in USD, two in Euro, one in GBP, one in JPY and now almost one more account in CNH.

Thank you for this information. I have been really keen on starting my kindle publishing and I already came across obstacles when it got to account information.
I reside in Kenya and I was desperate to find a way. So thank you for providing me with this encouragement.

Does the Payoneer account provide what is needed to complete the tax requirements on KDP?

One last lingering question. Is there any local tax you pay in South Sudan for conducting this online business?

Thank you.

Hi Roger. I'm also in Nairobi right now.
About the tax, NO.

Payoneer has nothing to do with tax. Kenya does not have a tax treaty with the US, so we have to be subjected to 30% tax withdrawal fees for each sale we generate.
South Sudan too is the same. I don't pay taxes in South Sudan for now, until my book press is registered, where I will need a physical office.

I hope this helps.

Roger, you simply enter your home-country tax ID when you set up the account. That will determine whether tax withholding applies.

Hi John,

I've just recently opened a Payoneer account. If I understand things correctly (reading on screen) I can only accept payments into each account (US, UK and EU) in the local currency and from a local business account. Which would mean setting up the US account for Amazon.com, the EU account for the various EU stores, and the UK account for Amazon.co.uk

I have managed to set up the US and EU accounts, but KDP requires the IBAN number for the UK account, and I only have a sort code and account number (the Barclays IBAN generator is not working and other IBAN generators can't verify the details other than tracing the account to Payoneer EU based in Gibralta.

How did you overcome this or work around it?

Thanks
Shaz
