I do a web search on my books every so often and today up pops this site that obviously was selling my books without my knowledge.

Now it says all mine are "sold out", but how could have they been selling them in the first place? Also notice how the shopping cart area looks an awful lot like Amazon. I'm not saying it's affiliated with Amazon, but rather someone trying to look like they are.

Here's a link to the page/site.

Hmmm.... Maybe they purchased it from your publisher to sell at a higher mark-up? I believe that's perfectly legal.

I'd be interested too, though, if it were my book. I guess the only way to find out what's going on is by shooting them an e-mail.

Good luck!

I'm the publisher and the only place I have it is on Amazon. I think I will contact amazon first and have them look into it because if this duny store is up to something I don't want them to know I'm on to them and have them take it down before amazon sees it.

It lists your publisher as The Deli Diva Publishing Division?

I just sent an email to amazon to alert them to this site. I saw many other amazon books on there that I bet the authors have no idea about.

Several were celebrity written books as well.

I'll let you know what Amazon tells me when I hear from them

My SF ebook is there too, also marked 'Sold out'. They are up to date on details eg my recent blurb change is there, so I think they are linked in with Amazons agreement. Their 'hard' products go back to amazon too
I'm not worried about it

You're saying you think they are a part of Amazon? The site does look similar, but why the disconnect and nothing stating they are a part of Amazon? I did contact support, so I hope to have a solid answer for all of us soon.

On their site they say:
" Our stores feature a powerful front-end shopping engine coupled to an extensive network of over 5,000 merchants. Our stores list millions of low priced offers every day. We do not set price or add markup.

We automatically list the lowest prices and provide secure checkout for your convenience"

They are selling one of my paperbacks, but they say my ebook is 'sold out'. Obviously they have no means of delivering it.

It's surprising to see where one's title turns up when you Google it.

My main concern for all of us who are with select and can not sell anywhere else for the 90 days, is that Amazon will think we put our books on these other sites. I see more and more posts on these forums where people are saying Amazon put their account on hold and they don't know why. Could this be it? Is Amazon finding our books out there too and thinking we are in violation of our agreement with them?

I hope they get back to me with an answer. I emailed them with a link to this site so hopefully I'll hear in the next day or two and will post their reply

This is an affiliate site... setup to look like a shopping cart.

http://www.cook-book.biz/the-everything-food-allergy-cookbook-prepare-easy-to-make-me/1598695606ID.html

As of this writing, the above book was still available. Go there, and add it to your cart. Then on the cart page, click the Checkout button...

It sends you to Amazon's checkout page (with their affiliate code in it).

As an Amazon affiliate for many years, this is completely within the accepted usage of the Amazon affiliates program... it's dumb because they lose out on earning commision on other stuff you may buy by sending you to a shopping cart instead of the page where you may go and buy other stuff, but that's a whole other topic.

They aren't/weren't selling your book... they are just sending people to Amazon.

Hope this clears it up.

THANK YOU so much! I was in a panic thinking Amazon was going to find me on this "pirated" site and think I was moonlighting and kick me out of Select. LOL But it was very confusing to find this site. Since you seem to know about this, why would they say my book was sold out when it's an e-book and not able to sell out?

Was your book recently free? it looks like they featured books that were recently free.... so once they were no longer free, they are no longer featuring them on their site and "sold out" with their software is the only way to convey that...

But really, they are a dumb affiliate for setting their site up like that in the first...

Yes, I did do one free day about 2 weeks ago, so you are most likely correct on that. Thank you.
