Bet it has a 5 star review.

I don't go near my books.

Touch them - or advertise them.

Let the chips fall.

Honest until the end.

Which I fear - is near.

How old are you Sarge?

I could write a book about my life,

but even you - with all your perceived strength.

Would probably cry.

And so.

Lifeguards live forever.

I faked it.

Pretended I was strong. :).

Banter.

Hold on - there's wikipedia; google for the clock, author central.

Banter, banter?

Hmmm.

I wouldn't do such a thing.

Laddie.

I went to an Irish Bar, God the music they played.

I'd 'd in 1983.

My buddy and I, he went to Notre Dame,

they're ok.

They're not Protestant.

It was a small bar, maybe 1200 square feet.

It took 5 minutes to get 5 feet.

So I stayed at the bar.

So I don't banter.

I've lived too long.

They're not scaring away new authors...they don't know enugh to be afraid. They move into the wonderful world of publishing; some with dreams of instant success and some with an ax to grind to get a message out. Some for profit; some for principle. The new authors are scared away from Amazon, there's four million books to prove it.

However, out of this massive number of books, some gems emerge that make the system prove its worth. The real question should be is Amazon scaring readers away? Even readers are finding what they want even if they have to kiss a few frogs along the way.

This is called free enterprise and the good ones will survive and thrive and those that don't will fall in the five hundred thousand or higer rankings that never sell a book..The only readers that venture into that distant realm are those that have a specific book in mind or are looking for a particular subject. Worrying about books that aren't well done is like worrying if the Studebaker is going to make a comeback.

Things are alive and well at Amazon

Yes and no. As a customer, I have received absolutely stellar customer service. As an author, it's been good, but not at the same level as the other side of their staffing, which I think is how it should be. We are a needy lot and I'd much rather they get to me when they can and keep customers so that I can sell to them...

Judging by some of the junk I've come across of late
Amazon seems to be encouraging everyone who can more
or less put five words in a rough line to call
themselves an author and start publishing.

You get a +1 for that statement. Too bad we do not have up/down votes on posts here... ;)

On Amazon.

.99 cents.

3 pages - estimated.

Preview. purchase - "the end.".

From one of the comments which looks to be by the author, it is a sample. And if I recall, you're not allowed to publish samples; only completed works.
