How important is it as an advertising tool to complete the author page? I have preferred to remain somewhat anonymous so far so as not to attract lunatics, ergo I might also remain mysterious and aloof? There is a following and there is a following.😐CE
Just pondering.

It is important. Most authors use pen names.

I suppose it depends on how handsome your book cover is, how enticing the title, how clever the book desc*ription. And on how many books you have published, especially if they are in a genre (chick lit, sci fi, naughty nuns, whatever). And how the reviews are!

It's a package. An aloof, mysterious author with one book of mystic poetry and no reviews -- well, no author page in the world is going to cure that.

Perhaps more important -- work on your website and your blog.

Good luck! -- NJ

I guess I'm not connecting the dots, I don't get it....so you have an author page and use a pen name on it....what's the point....people seeing you? CE

If you don't care whether people have a place to see all your books at once or don't care that other people's books come up in searches, don't worry about it.

I have an author page and a pen number. My picture is not on my author page. All of my books are available in one place. This happens a lot.

so you have an author page and use a pen name on it.

If you are writing under a pen name, then your author page (or pages -- I have three) reflect that. Just think of it as a great opportunity to remake yourself. If you are bald, you can have flowing locks!

It looks like a vacant shop if you don't. It's a lot of work setting it up but once it's done, it's easy to maintain.
