I received the e-mail yesterday about my August payment. Opened up the payment tab under reports and nothing is listed yet. Does it take a few days sometimes to show? The last two months it seemed to be there right away.

Especially the KDP e-mail is useless, as payments don't go out until about the 29th. That e-mail doesn't even include an amount.

At least the e-mail from CreateSpace includes an amount.

Most of us just click that e-mail into the bit bucket.

I highlight the email and after the 29th, I go to payments and check the amount. I keep track of it on a spreadsheet. I like to keep my own account of sales. It would be easier if the amount was listed but I know why they wait. Stragglers (sales) come in late.

I must have explained that badly. Lol. It's not that the e-mail had no amount on it...it's that there is no payment listed under my reports tab. There is just one for June and July. Just wondering if sometimes there is a delay between the e-mail and the payment getting posted on my reports before I contact Amazon.

They usually turn up over the space of a few days. So far my report is showing the UK site (my home site) but not .com, .AU or .CA yet. They'll be along sometime between now and the 29th, never fear. J

I am having the same issue. I have payments under the report tab for June listed for a few marketplaces, but not all the marketplaces in which I sold books during that month. I don't have Amazon.com listed as a marketplace, even though the MAJORITY of my books were sold through there and that is where I should be receiving the highest royalty payment. I don't know if that marketplace takes a few days longer or if I should contact support now.

I also received the e-mails over the weekend, so I may be having the same problem as you. Hopefully it is just a delay on their end.

It's just an advice, not a notice of payment. If you're book is selling well, you'll receive several. If you want, note the payment number for future reference when the actual payment is processed, otherwise ignore them. If you're really in a lather to see what you made, go to the Prior Months Royalties and look up that month, but it'll not be converted to your currency. What's your hurry? It's over a week before any payments are credited, and probably a couple of days after that before your bank send back the FX info so your Payments tab can be updated. Why not try writing another book to keep yourself occupied?

Payments, as has been mentioned often, are made approximately 60 days after the end of a month in which sales were made.

Because of fluctuating currency exchange rates, royalties for .de, .fr, .uk, et al., cannot be reported until they are calculated.

I generally receive payments from 4 to 6 Amazon sites each month. I have never found any point in becoming concerned over missing royalty reports or actual payments till the 4th or 5th of a new month.

Which has meant that over all the years I have I have self-published through KDP I have never once had any reason to become concerned.

Thanks for the replies, I just wanted to make sure this was normal. The last two months when I got the e-mail the payment was already listed under my payments tab. With all the problems I've seen posted since 3.0 rolled out I'll definitely keep my eye on it. I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law, if anything can go wrong it will, at least that's been my experience the last year. Ward Roger's (I have to be honest, I look forward to your replies, they make me laugh because your so dang blunt) don't worry I'm writing everyday. After a botched surgery and a surgical infection I've been in a wheelchair the last 14 months, so I don't have much else to do to keep me sane. New book is in review now and should be live tomorrow :) Sales pick up a little more each month, I'm no J. K. Rowling's but I'm starting to make a little more money each month..and I'm having a blast doing it!!! Well accept for revising and editing, I really hate that part. lol

Well, thanks, Karen, I appreciate that. If you've spent any time here, you know that people who ask questions don't really want answers. Those who ask for "honest feedback" want anything but. Nice to know there are some level-headed people hereabout. Writing every day is the best therapy for everything and the only way to master the craft, so keep at it, even if they're snippets and dialogues that will never see print. Me, I'm doing my best I can on my daily regimen (faithful since 1937) with one hand. My left arm is bound up in plaster, and a bloody nuisance, I might add. What happened? I swear it was someone who tripped me coming out of the Red Lion and not the number of pints I'd imbibed, and that's the God's honest truth. ;-) Good luck with the book, luv.

Karen, I understood what you meant and have the same issue too. I know the payment won't hit my bank until after 29th August, however the payment usually appears on the payment screen but with an 'awaiting/pending from your bank' for overseas marketplaces. I am missing the pending payment for .com
There was a glitch I was affected by last month where KU/KOLL payments weren't processed and Amazon sorted this quickly once I contacted them. I would say if it doesn't show as pending in the next couple of days I would email Amazon to be sure it's not another glitch.

I've got the same problem - no indication of US, AU and CA payments on the Payments tab, and I had the same problem last month, so I'm a little concerned. If I haven't seen them by tomorrow morning I'll flag it as a problem - given last month, I'm more cautious than normal, and this time, it's 80% of my royalties, not 10% like it was last time.

Everyone in a panic - this is funny!
Check it on the 29th along with your auto bank deposits.
Scream then if it is not showing or does not arrive.

I'd be a lot less concerned if a version of this didn't happen with last month's payments - and again, it originally became apparent because there was something missing from one of the listed payments. That took quite a bit of time to sort out, and I really don't want to have to do all that again.

I'm missing 3 payments under the 'payments' tab including my US one, which is the second largest amount of money. As quite a few people seem to be missing payments this months, there must be some kind of glitch. It is not the first time it's happened to me, and don't worry, the money always arrived.
