Thank you If you publish a book in both e-book and print format with KDP, is it acceptable and simple to cross over to ACX and publish the same book in audio?
Yes, of course.
Note that it's a lot harder to produce an audio book than an ebook or print book. You really need a professional voice artist with a lot of expensive sound equipment. Unless you already have experience as a voice artist, you'll have to hire somebody, or else do a 50-50 split of royalties. Few voice artists will do royalty splits with unknowns, unless they're just starting out, and even then you would most likely be at the bottom of their to-do list.
They figure about 6 hours of work for each hour of finished audio. For each 10,000 words, figure maybe an hour and a quarter of finished audio. These guys are professionals, so you'd have to guesstimate at least $30 an hour for their work. So you can see that a full-length book can be expensive.
On the other hand, it's a whole new version of your book and a whole new market. Good luck!
